Dear Star Alliance Customer,
I am delighted to be able to tell you that Star Alliance has lately won two prestigious
awards:
Firstly: Star Alliance was named Best Airline Alliance at Australian Business Traveller
Awards. Currently 10 Star Alliance member airlines operate services to Australia and a
number of offline members are also active in the market. Mark Schwab, CEO Star Alliance
commented that the Best Airline Alliance Award was a testament to the dedication of Star
Alliance member airlines in Australia. Australian Business Traveller Editor David Flynn said
the inaugural awards program recognised "trend-setters and game-changers in the highlycompetitive business travel market. With 28 member airlines under its wing, Star Alliance
can take business travellers almost everywhere they need to go."
Secondly: Star Alliance has been named Best Airline Alliance by the readers of
Frequent Business Traveler magazine. The Frequent Business Traveler GlobeRunner
Awards recognize the world's best airlines, hotel chains, automobile manufacturers, car
rental agencies, luggage manufacturers, and travel-related websites. Voting was
conducted online from March 24 through June 19, 2015, and over 162,000 votes were cast
by readers.
We are very proud to receive these awards from customers. They motivate us to deliver
yet more added value to our travellers, in line with our goal to constantly improve the travel

ANA expands China network
ANA increases services to China to take advantage of growing demand from
business and leisure travelers. Starting from the 2015 winter schedule which begins
on October 25, ANA will launch a new route from Haneda to Guangzhou and
increase flights from Haneda to Beijing and Shanghai from one to two a day.
The doubling in services to Beijng and Shanghai means that ANA will be able to operate
flights departing Haneda in the late afternoon, arriving early evening, in addition to existing
flights which depart in the morning and arrive at lunchtime.
The new service to Guangzhou will be ANA’s fourth route from Haneda to major cities in
China including Hong Kong. With our Narita-China network of 10 routes, this expansion will
further strengthen ANA’s network linking China and the Tokyo metropolitan region. It will
also help business and leisure passengers from China to connect to other destinations in
Japan using ANA’s domestic network from Haneda. Narita meanwhile is being
strengthened as a hub for passengers connecting to international routes between North
America and Asia.

Austrian Airlines expands long-haul flight service to Asia
Austrian Airlines will launch flight service to a new long-haul destination in Asia next year.
Starting on April 4, 2016, Austria’s national carrier will operate a Boeing 777 to Shanghai
throughout the entire year. In April 2016 the flights will be offered five times a week, as of
May 1, 2016 on a daily basis. This is the airline’s second destination in China in addition to
Beijing. The destination is not only interesting as a point-to-point route but also for transfer
traffic. About two-thirds of passengers will transfer at the Vienna hub and continue their
journeys, flying particularly to Western and Eastern European destinations.
At present Austrian Airlines offers a total of 26 weekly nonstop flights to Asia in its summer
flight schedule. In addition to 5 flights per week to Beijing, the airline also offers up to 7
flights per week to Delhi operating a Boeing 767. Bangkok and Tokyo are serviced with
daily flights on a Boeing 777. Furthermore, it is launching flight service once per week to
the tourist destination of Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka, starting October 27, 2015.
In this way myAustrian is resolutely expanding flight service on long-haul routes.

Six months of Rackham : an overview in numbers
Six months after the official unveiling, Brussels Airline’s Tintin aircraft can look
back on great adventures.
Rackham has welcomed over 85’000 travellers and has flown 2.5 times the distance to the
moon on his trips to over 40 different countries. Rackham is the favourite subject of many
plane spotters and is wildly popular on Instagram, including among Brussels Airline’s own
flight crew. New pictures of the shark shaped plane appear on Instagram and Twitter
every day. A project coordinated closely between the cartoonists of Moulinsart and
Brussels Airlines, Rackham was created by the airline to translate the company’s (Belgian)
values and to help accomplish their mission statement, which is to make travel a pleasure
again.

LOT’s Boeing airplanes will soon have new colours
Dark graphite for better concentration, two shades of grey for even better relaxation.
Starting today LOT will successfully implement elements of new design and colour
scheme, which is supposed to help passengers find their way around the airport
better on the way to the airplane and while on-board. All travel classes will be
marked and filled with elements which will allow passengers to have a feeling of
transparency and comfort.
By introducing class identification every passenger will easily find his or her seat on the
aircraft and will easily move around the airport. LOT’s passengers will notice the first
changes on-board and at the airports, such as, new colour schemes of food trays and
decor of the check-in areas at the Warsaw airport already now. Subsequent elements of
the new colour scheme will appear soon.
LOT’s every travel class is a separate space, based on strictly defined colours. The waves
visible on the seats have been inspired by the movements of air masses and LOT’s 86
year old logo. Blue colours distinguishing each class emerge from elegant shades of
graphite.
The navigating colour of LOT’s Business Class is light blue, contrasting with the dark
graphite complementing the entire scheme. This last colour will be used in the future as a
covering fabric of seats in the business class. It fosters concentration and gives
passengers more energy to act – frequently needed before important business meetings
immediately after landing.
Meanwhile, the range of shades of grey used to decorate LOT’s Premium Economy and
Economy Class has been juxtaposed with navy blue colour of LOT Polish Airlines’ logo
that remains unchanged for 86 years. The neutral colours of the seats help passengers to
relax during the trip. An accent of red is visible in each travel class, which makes the entire
colour scheme even more elegant and refers to the Polish origin of the LOT brand name.
Starting January 1st 2016 LOT will come back to Zürich with up to two daily flights!

zweimal täglich statt bisher einmal pro Tag vom stadtnahen Tokioter Flughafen
Star Alliance Mitglied weitere zehn Strecken in chinesische Städte an.
Nordamerika in andere asiatische Metropolen.

Austrian Airlines baut Langstrecke nach Asien aus
Austrian Airlines nimmt nächstes Jahr wieder eine neue Langstrecken-Destination in Asien
auf. Ab 4.
China an.

Reisens. Ob Flüge suchen und buchen, mobil einchecken, Bordkarten speichern
