April, 2008—Brooklyn based duo, ASVP team up and begin developing a unique, hand drawn, multi-layered graphic style, often marrying iconic eastern and western imagery with recurring nods to advertising, pop and comic book culture, often with messaging e.g., “We Can Give You What You Want” intermittently revealing the artists’ dissent from the advertising industry, where they initially met. 2008–2012—For the next four+ years the team creates thousands of handmade posters, paintings, murals, publicly posting the work throughout cities worldwide including; Amsterdam, Cape Town, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Florence Italy, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Varanasi India and Zürich among others. September, 2011—ASVP is offered a solo show at a Denver Street Art Gallery, the team creates 30 original works for the show, four of them return to NYC after the show concludes. February, 2012—ASVP creates an edition of 50 “China Cheerleader” prints for online gallery, 1XRUN, all 50 sell within 48 hours. September 2012—Design legend, agnès b. notices ASVP’s work while walking through Williamsburg, asks the team to curate a Street Art Show for her Howard Street Gallery in NYC. ASVP reaches out to established and emerging artists including; Faile, D-Face, Miss Bugs and QRST among others to curate, Public Display which turns out to be a wildly successful event. Four ASVP pieces are included in the show, all four sell at the opening reception. October, 2012—ASVP is one of two emerging artists included in Doyle New York’s Inaugural Street Art Auction, two ASVP pieces are presented at auction. Both sell and exceed auction estimates. April, 2012—an ASVP hits the auction block at Doyle New York’s 2nd Street Art Auction, the team emerges from the sale with a new auction record. May, 2012—ASVP commissioned to create mural in collaboration with Vandalog and The LISA Project, in Little Italy, NYC. June, 2012—ASVP is commissioned by Maxwell Colette Gallery to create 60’ long outdoor mural in Wicker Park, Chicago. asvp | 2008—2015 milestones January, 2013—agnès b., reaches out to the team once again with an invitation to collaborate on a limited collection of garments featuring ASVP imagery, the collection quickly sells out internationally. September 2013—Spotify, the Swedish Music streaming service with 40MM+ active users, commissions ASVP to create 25 large-scale pieces for the organization’s brand new 97,000 sq. ft. headquarters in the landmarked Cammeyer Building, NYC. November 2013—Keep This Coupon, 2013 is presented at auction during Doyle New York’s Annual Contemporary Sale and shatters previous records for an ASVP work on paper with a winning bid from Jessica Seinfeld. December 2013—ASVP teams up with David Arquette to create a 60’ long mural during this year’s ABMB Festival. January 2014—ASVP creates mural for Surplus Candy, a one night only show which transforms an east village brownstone, into a collective canvas of street art and graffiti. Surplus Candy opens to the public for one night before being demolished. April 2014—ASVP is invited to create a piece for The Big Egg Hunt, a curated NYC public art installation, bringing the team into a world-class group of creative talent that includes contemporaries Jeff Koons and Julian Schnabel among others. May 2014—Doyle New York invites the team to participate in an experimental format for the auction house, a three-day Pop-Up Show, the show brings a record price for an ASVP work on canvas. June 2014—ASVP creates 24’ tall piece for Outlaw Arts / 21st Precinct show in NYC. September 2014—ASVP participates Lost Corcosa Show, NYC. January 2015—ASVP commissioned by The Quin Hotel in NYC to create mural for penthouse suite. March 2015—The team participates in the highly acclaimed “Gag-Osian” gallery show, NYC.
