Obwohl wesentlich mehr Menschen an HerzKreis
laufErkrankungen sterben, schockiert die Diagno
se Krebs nachhaltiger. Ein beeindruckender Film, der
Hoffnung macht. Nachdem bei ihrer jüngeren Schwester Johanna Knochenkrebs festgestellt wird, greift die
Schauspielerin Katharina Uhland zur Kamera, um das
Unfassbare zu bewältigen. Sie begleitet Johanna ein Jahr
lang bei Chemotherapie und Bestrahlung. Mit ihr lernt
sie die 28-jährige Nadine im Krankenhaus kennen, die
ebenfalls an Knochenkrebs erkrankt ist. Die beiden jungen Frauen eint ihr Schicksal und ihr Humor, und Nadine hilft Katharina, die Krankheit besser zu verstehen. Sie
treffen ihren Sohn Bendix und die Chemoritter und gehen gemeinsam zum Kinderfasching. Der Film transportiert die Energie und den Überlebenswillen der jungen
Frauen und er zeigt, dass das einschneidende Erlebnis
trotz aller Heftigkeit das Leben auch positiv verändern
kann. Ein starker Auftritt.
Although far more people die of cardiovascular disease than of cancer, a diagnosis of the big C is somehow more shocking. This impressive film inspires hope.
When her younger sister Johanna was diagnosed with
bone cancer, actress Katharina Uhland took up a camera to try to cope with the incomprehensible news. For
a year, she filmed Johanna as her sister went through
chemotherapy and radiation. In the hospital, they meet
28-year-old Nadine, who also has bone cancer. Johanna
and Nadine are united by their fate and their sense of humour and Nadine helps Katharina better understand the
disease. The two sisters meet Nadine’s son Bendix and the
“Chemo Knights”, and go to a children’s carnival celebration together. This powerful film is infused with the energy and will to survive of the young women, and it shows
that cancer, despite its drastic nature and the intensity of
the experience, can sometimes change life for the better.

Katharina Uhland studierte Schauspiel an der Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in München.
Seit 2005 tritt sie am Theater
und in Filmen auf. „Auf einer
Skala von 1 - 10“ ist ihre erste Regiearbeit, für die sie Jonathan Schorr aus Lübeck für Tonmischung/Sounddesign engagierte. Von ihrem nächsten Projekt „Thor“ war der profilierte Dokumentarfilmer
Andres Veiel so begeistert, dass er es als dramaturgischer
Berater begleitet.
Katharina Uhland studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg
School in Munich and has been acting on stage and screen
since 2005. “On a Scale of 1 to 10” is her first time behind
the camera. The film’s sound design and mix were done
by Jonathan Schorr from Lübeck. Her next project, “Thor”,
came to the notice of famed documentarian Andres Veiel,
who signed up as dramatic advisor.
