VIS is looking for a German teacher
Vientiane International School (VIS; www.vislao.com) is an International Baccalaureate World School located
in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The school was established in 1991 and now caters for more than 450 students from
nearly 40 nationalities. The international nature of the student body is reflected in the variety of first languages
spoken. Students with a non-English first language make up close to 70% of the total school population. The
language of instruction at VIS is English and many students are bilingual or are in the process of becoming
bilingual. VIS highly values mother tongue proficiency and therefore is supporting more than 10 different
mother tongues. With a growing number of German mother tongue speakers, we need a second German
teacher from school year 2015/16 onwards, supporting students in grades 7 to 12.
Qualifications sought
• A Swiss teaching diploma (preferably Lehrdiplom Sekundarstufe I or II)
• Subjects: German; desirable other subjects: German as foreign language, French, Spanish
• Strong English oral and written communication skills

Die Vientiane International School (VIS; www.vislao.com) ist eine International Baccalaureate World School in
Vientiane, Laos. Die Schule wurde 1991 gegründet und hat heute mehr als 450 SchülerInnen aus 40 Ländern.
Die gemischte Herkunft der Schülerinnen spiegelt sich in den Sprachen, die sie sprechen. Englisch ist die
Unterrichtssprache an der Schule, aber mehr als 70% der SchülerInnen haben eine andere Muttersprache und
sind bilingual. Die VIS legt grossen Wert auf die Pflege der Muttersprachen und bietet deshalb Unterricht in
mehr als 10 Muttersprachen an. Da die Anzahl der deutschsprechenden SchülerInnen steigt, brauchen wir ab
dem Schuljahr 2015/16 eine zweite Lehrperson, die die 7. bis 12. Klasse betreut.
Gesuchte Qualifikation
• Schweizer Lehrdiplom (bevorzugt Sekundarstufe I oder II)
• Fächerprofil: Deutsch; optimale Zusatzfächer: Deutsch als Fremdsprache, Französisch, Spanisch
• Gute mündliche und schriftliche Englischkenntnisse
