Julian Savulescu besitzt Abschlüsse in den Bereichen Medizin, Bioethik und Analytische Philosophie.
Er veröffentlichte bereits mehr als 100 Artikel im Bereich Angewandte Ethik. Er war Direktor des
“Bioethics Program at the Centre for the Study of Health and Society” an der University of Melbourne
und akzeptierte 2002 den Ruf auf den Uehiro Chair in Practical Ethics der University of Oxford.
Savulescu ist Gründer und Direktor des Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics und Direktor des
“Program on Ethics and the New Biosciences in the 21st Century School” an der University of Oxford.
Das Uehiro Centre widmet sich der Forschung, Lehre und Stimulierung einer offenen Diskussion zu
ethischen Fragen, welche sich aus der Veränderung der Gesellschaft und hierbei speziell der
Entwicklung neuer technologischer Möglichkeiten ergeben. Neben seiner Forschung im Bereich
“Enhancement” arbeitet Savulescu dabei an einer Agenda für Führungskräfte.

Julian Savulescu is qualified in medicine, bioethics and analytic philosophy. He has published over
100 articles in the field of applied ethics. Previously, he was Director of the Bioethics Program at the
Centre for the Study of Health and Society at the University of Melbourne. Since 2002 he is the
Uehiro Chair in Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. He is Founder and Director of the Oxford
Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics and Director of the Program on Ethics and the New Biosciences in
the 21st Century School, University of Oxford.
The Uehiro Centre is devoted to research and education and to stimulating an open public discussion
around the ethical issues which arise in everyday life and which are related to the changes in society,
particularly those related to technological advancement. Julian Savulescu's areas of research include
the topics of enhancement and the preparation of an ethical agenda for business leaders.
