New Evidence in Sepsis
Program 5th September 2015
Presenter: G. Marx, Aachen
Dear colleagues,
Speakers and chairs
we are happy to invite you to our 6th International Euregio
Intensive Care Symposium entitled „New Evidence in Sepsis“. The symposium will take place in the “SuperC” of the
RWTH Aachen University on Saturday, 5th September 2015
in the very heart of the city of Aachen.
Our Euregional Intensive Care Symposium (EIS) is a traditional part of the interdisciplinary intensive care cooperation in
the Euregio and gives you the opportunity to discuss recent
studies with competent national and international experts in
the field.
The exciting new publications and thus new insights in
sepsis suggested to present new evidence and to discuss
this evidence with you.
Furthermore, we are glad to present you data of studies in
German intensive care units as well as international studies.
You will achieve valuable insights in actual data on the incidence of sepsis in Germany. Moreover, you may re-evaluate
diagnosis of sepsis and the antiinfective therapy. Other data
challenge the significance of dogmas like the early goaldirected therapy (EGDT) or the use of the central venous
pressure (CVP) to guide volume resuscitation. A study of the
German Sepnet will provide new knowledge on adjunctive
therapy with selenium in sepsis. Finally, we will gain an
update of hydrocortisone and talk about appropriate anticoagulation in sepsis.
We are happy to welcome you on behalf of the three departments in the Centre of Europe and to provide a clinical
science platform for personal and scientific exchange.
