Die umfangreiche Sammlung historischer und zeitgenössischer Mode des Museums für Angewandte Kunst Köln (MAKK) gehört zu den bedeutenden Sammlungen dieser Art in Deutschland. Die Sonderausstellung „LOOK! Modedesigner von A bis Z“ präsentiert eine Auswahl der wichtigsten Neuerwerbungen aus den Bereichen Prêt-à-porter und Accessoires der letzten Jahre. Der zeitliche Bogen spannt sich von den 1960er Jahren bis in die unmittelbare Gegenwart mit Entwürfen von A wie Alexander McQueen bis Z wie Zadig & Voltaire. Das Zufallsprinzip der alphabetischen Folge setzt sich in der suggestiven Inszenierung der Objekte fort: So entsteht ein überraschendes, buntes Kaleidoskop, das das Bild der Mode der letzten Jahrzehnte mit ihren vielen Facetten, Brechungen und Spielarten reflektiert. FASHION DESIGNERS FROM A TO Z The MAKK Collection The comprehensive collection of historical and contemporary fashion at the Cologne Museum of Applied Arts (MAKK) is one of the most significant collections of its kind in Germany. The special exhibition ‘LOOK! Fashion Designers from A to Z’ presents a selection of the most important new pieces acquired over the last few years. The time frame spans from the 1960s to the present and includes designs and pieces from collections, prêt-à-porter and accessories by Alexander McQueen to Zadig & Voltaire. The random principle of alphabetical order is reflected in the exhibits’ suggestive presentation and creates a surprising and colourful kaleidoscope mirroring the image of fashion from the last few decades in its many facets, fragments and flavours.
