Sprachinstitut Tübingen (SIT)
The SIT is a centre for communicative
language studies and professional
training. It is part of Internationaler Bund
(International Federation) and IB does a
lot of things for people who need sort of
help to get work.
"The SIT is very special because we do not
only teach a language but also try to give
a deep cultural insight " ...says Astrid
Lorenz (Leader of the SIT).
They have a long tradition, there are
different courses, different programs
which they called:
 Intensive Courses
In this you can choose if you do 20 hours,
26 hours or 36 hours per week. They do
language test as well (people who want
to study in University need this).
The teaching is very individual and the
groups are small. They have a Residence,
the house where the people can live, they
offer some activities there.
They have school groups which means
student from all over the world, which
learn in the school German. They go in
the class and stay 1-3 weeks. They do
everything from the arrival to the
accommodations at host families. They
have a lot of groups which go there from
Italy, Brazil, Argentina and other
countries from all over the world. The
students are from 11-18 years old. These
courses are not for free and the
participants have to pay to have this
service.
 Integration Course
This is for people who stay in Germany.
The first course starts in February. After
this they do a language test, it is called
DTZ and the BAMF pays for this course.
The vhs schools in Tübingen and
Rottenburg also offer Integration
Courses.

 Course „Sprache und Beruf"
This course lasts 6 months, you can take
German lessons, mathematics and some
lessons how you can use computer, learn
how you can employed for a job.
This is financed by the BAMF.
 Teacher training
For teachers who want to study and want
to teach in these courses there is a
teacher training. They need to get the
"Zulassung als Lehrkraft" (Permission to
teach). There are some special methods
of teaching and to understand the
people. People have different needs than
just a language and the teachers need to
know this thing, need to know everything
about Germany it is much more than just
learning a language.
 German course for refugees
This course is financed by the
Landratsamt. The groups are small and
consist of 20-24 people maximum. The
course is free of charge and takes place
every weekday.

Course „Ehrenamt auf dem Weg zum
Sprachbegleiter“
In the SIT starts a new project in
February, it is called " Ehrenamt auf dem
Weg zum Sprachbegleiter". This course is
for free. This project lasts 2 years and is
for people who want to support refugees
voluntarily in their daily life. This project
is financed from the Baden Württemberg
Stiftung.
 Special Courses for certain countries
SIT have got courses for people who
come from the countries Eritrea, Syria,
Iran, Iraq. The courses started in
December and are called "Basiskurs".
It is financed by the Agentur für Arbeit.

German Summary
Sprachinstitut Tübingen (SIT)
Das Sprachinstitut Tübingen SIT gehört
zum Internationalen Bund (IB) und bietet
seit vielen Jahren unterschiedliche
Sprachkurse und Programme.
 Intensivsprachkurse
Hier können die Teilnehmer zwischen
Kursen mit 20, 26 und 36 Stunden pro
Woche wählen. Der Unterricht ist sehr
individuell und in kleinen Gruppen.
Personen, die einen Sprachkurs
besuchen, können auch eine
Unterbringung über das SIT buchen.
Entweder in Einzelzimmern oder in
Gastfamilien. Menschen aus der ganzen
Welt kommen an das SIT, um Deutsch zu
lernen (z.B. aus Italien, Brasilien und
Argentinien). Die Intensivsprachkurse und
auch die Unterbringung kosten Geld.
 Integrationskurse
Integrationskurse sind für Menschen, die
dauerhaft in Deutschland bleiben
möchten. Der erste Kurs startet im
Februar 2016. Die Kurse werden für das
Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge
(BAMF) am SIT durchgeführt. Solche
Integrationskurse werden auch an den
Volkshochschulen in Rottenburg und
Tübingen angeboten.
 Sprachkurs „Sprache und Beruf“
Dieser Kurs dauert 6 Monate. Die
Teilnehmer lernen Deutsch, Mathe, wie
man einen Computer benutzt und was in
der Arbeitswelt wichtig ist. Der Kurs wird
für das Bundesamt für Migration und
Flüchtlinge (BAMF) am SIT durchgeführt.
 Zulassung als Sprachlehrer
Dieser Kurs ist für Menschen, die selbst
gerne Sprachunterricht geben möchten.
Die Teilnehmer lernen Lehrmethoden
und andere Dinge, die über das bloße
Erlernen der deutschen Sprache
hinausgehen.
 Sprachkurse für Flüchtlinge”
Das SIT bietet in kleinen Gruppen von
20 – 24 Personen auch Sprachkurse für
Flüchtlinge nach dem FlüAG an. Die
Kosten übernimmt das Landratsamt. Die
Kurse finden täglich von Montag bis
Freitag statt.

„Ehrenamt auf dem Weg zum
Sprachbegleiter“
Das SIT startet im Februar ein neues
kostenloses Projekt für Menschen, die
Flüchtlinge ehrenamtlich als
Sprachbegleiter im Alltag unterstützen
möchten.

Sprachkurse für Menschen aus
bestimmten Ländern
Das SIT bietet für Menschen aus Eritrea,
Syrien und dem Iran und Irak spezielle
Basiskurse an.
