Sie studierte zunächst Literatur an der Universität Paris-Nanterre, später bildende Kunst in New York, wo sie zudem als Filmkuratorin arbeitete. Losier drehte eine Vielzahl filmischer Portraits von Avantgarde-Regisseuren, Musikern und Komponisten wie etwa von Mike und George Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman und Tony Conrad. Als Schauspielerin wirkte sie zudem in Filmen von George und Mike Kuchar sowie von Jackie Raynal und in Theaterstücken von Juliana Francis und Tony Torn mit. Zurzeit arbeitet sie an einem neuen Film über Cassandro. Ihre Filme und Videos wurden international in zahlreichen Museen und Galerien sowie auf Biennalen und Festivals präsentiert. She first studied literature at the University of Nanterre, France, and then Fine Arts in New York City, where she also worked as a film curator. Marie Losier has made a number of film portraits of avantgarde directors, musicians, and composers, such as Mike and George Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, and Tony Conrad. She has also performed in films by George Kuchar, Mike Kuchar, and Jackie Raynal, and in plays by Juliana Francis and Tony Torn. Currently she's working on a new film about Cassandro.
