Lord Mayor Elser was invited by Dr. Yinhui Li to visit CIMC and Shenzhen. While he was
there he met Mr. Mai.
Shenzhen, 15 April 2015 - The Lord Mayor of Giengen, Mr. Gerrit Elser travelled to China and
followed the invitation of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Albert Ziegler GmbH, Dr.
Yinhui Li to visit the headquarters of the company in Shenzhen. During this visit the mayor
was also able to personally meet and hold discussions with the President of the CIMC Group
Mr. Boliang Mai about the very good relationship between the city of Giengen and the CIMC
Group.
One other important point of the agenda was the business development and the market
situation of CIMC’s subsidiary Ziegler. Lord Mayor Gerrit Elser has emphasized the
importance of the fire vehicle manufacturer Ziegler for the city of Giengen. He expressed his
special appreciation to Mr. Mai and Dr. Li about the successful and smooth acquisition of
Ziegler through the CIMC Group. Mr. Mai assured that as a subsidiary of CIMC group the fire
vehicle manufacturer Ziegler is facing a promising future and that a cooperative collaboration
is of great importance for both sides. It is also CIMC's vision to become the world market
leader in this industrial sector.
Mr. Mai was very pleased about the European visit and said that it is an honor to welcome
Lord Mayor Gerrit Elser in the CIMC headquarters. Lord Mayor Elser is the second European
mayor who visited CIMC headquarters in Shenzhen. To express his appreciation about the
invitation, Lord Mayor Gerrit Elser handed over one of the famous Steiff Teddy bears as a gift
in addition to a historical map of Giengen. Lord Mayor Elser was accompanied by Phillip A.
Thompson, Member of the Board of Management of the Ziegler Group. In Shenzhen, he was
warmly welcomed by Youjun Luan, Chairman and CEO of the Ziegler Group as well as Dr.
Yinhui Li, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Albert Ziegler GmbH and Vice President
of CIMC.
