Dipl.-Ing. Stefan Linke
The focus lies on the interdisciplinary topic of the active, intelligent
and adaptive structures (smart) and systems. The symposium includes
all relevant fields of technology, from the material to the design of
components and the integration of functions, through to the reliability of complex systems. In addition to traditional applications of active vibration, sound and shape control numerous other applications,
including Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) or energy harvesting
are addressed.

Dr.-Ing. Dirk Mayer
Innovation through focused networking of research and application 4SMARTS creates the framework for an intensive exchange in
the fields of mechatronics and Adaptive Systems and is a breeding
ground for cooperation and innovation in the subject area of smart
structures and systems.

Exhibition
Accompanying the conference there will be a technical exhibition
in the premises of the meeting house.
The technology network was founded as Rhein-Main Adaptronics e. V.
in Darmstadt in 2007. As part of the nationwide expansion of the association‘s activities, the association has been renamed in 2014 as Kompetenznetz Adaptronics. It brings together the leading German competence
in the field of Adaptive Systems, making it the central point for Adaptive
Systems in German-speaking countries.
Conference Chairs
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tobias Melz
Fraunhofer-Institut für Betriebsfestigkeit und Systemzuverlässigkeit LBF
Its members include small and medium sized enterprises as well as large
industrial companies, as well as universities, colleges and research institutions. Therefore, the association has a wide range of expertise around
the topic “Adaptronics” from materials and materials technology through
sensors and actuators to prototyping and testing, from the basic research
to the application.
The objective of the Competence Network Adaptive Systems is to link
players from industry and science which research, develop at different
points of the value chain. This in order to develop and exploit further
potential of technology.
The association offers its members a platform for open dialogue, for the
exchange of experiences and the initiation and implementation of joint
projects.Further objectives are to provide information on funding options
and specialist events, joint marketing activities and introductions to cooperation partners.
The Competence Network Adaptive Systems is primarily aimed at the
target markets automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering and automation technology.
