Abstract The aim of this study is to assess the
usefulness of MEG on detection and localization of
fast oscillation (FO) and to evaluate the validity by
comparison with invasive EEG (iEEG). Five patients
with neocortical epilepsy were reviewed. Multiple
band frequency analysis (MBFA) is conducted to
detect FOs, and gradient magnetic-field topography
(GMFT) is used for localization of the FOs. MBFA
revealed FOs with 50-100 Hz in all patients except for
one patient. GMFT could localize the FOs, and the
distributions were concordant to that of high
frequency oscillations in iEEG. MEG is considered to
be useful for analysis of FO.
