2015 - 2016 KIST Student Laptop Requirements & Wi-Fi Access
Dear KIST Families,
At KIST we use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and SharePoint Online. We believe that unifying the computer
environment that teachers and students use will serve our community best, both from a teaching and learning perspective.
By limiting the platform and determining course specific software, we can better support the needs of students and teachers.
Due to many technical complications over the past 3 years, such as teacher prepared student materials unable to be
viewed on Mac OS, and all school resources not operating on Apple products, KIST does not support Apple products.
It will be compulsory for all current students entering Grade 9 to purchase a Windows laptop (i.e no Apple hardware). Only
Windows laptops will be allowed to connect to the school wifi. Any computers students bring to school must meet the KIST
Student Laptop Requirements below. Once confirmed by the IT Office one device only per student will be registered. If the
computer changes re-registration is necessary.

 Students using a different version of Windows will be able to upgrade to Windows 8.1
Enterprise using KIST’s Student upgrade license for no additional cost. However depending on
your laptop hardware this may not be possible.
 English Language Pack must be installed for non English versions of Windows, free via
Windows Control Panel
Norton 360 with an up to date license (English language only)

Notes: Users with Windows receive technical support from the KIST IT Office.
In order to access the school wifi students will need to make sure that:
1. Their computer meets the KIST Students Laptop Requirements.
2. They have installed all the software in the KIST Required Software List.
3. They have submitted the Student Laptop Registration Form.
4. KIST IT Office checks laptop and enables access to wifi.

2015-2016 年度生徒のラップトップの必要スペック及び無線LAN接続について
保護者の皆様、
KIST では Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 及び SharePoint Online を利用しています。教員と生徒が使用するパソコンの
環境を揃えることによりスムーズな授業が行えると考えています。又、サポートに関しても充実させられることが出来ます。生
徒が学校に自分のラップトップを持ち込んで使用する場合には下記の仕様を満たしていることが必須です。
過去 3 年の状況では先生が学校で用意した Laptop を使用して作成した課題が Mac OS で動作しなかったという事がありま
した、スムーズに授業を進めるために KIST では Windows のハードウエアのみ使用許可することになりました。
新９年生、については新年度(2015/8)が始まるまでに Windows Laptop を用意する事が必須となっています。(Apple 製品およ
び各種タブレットについては KIST の無線 LAN への接続が許可されません)
仕様を満たしている場合に限り１人が１台のラップトップを学校の無線 LAN に接続する為の登録を受け付けます。
又、ラップトップ固有の情報を登録するので持ち込むラップトップが変わった場合には再度登録が必要があります。

ンスを使用して Windows 8.1Enterprise へアップグレードが出来ます.(但し、使用しているパソコンによっ
てアップグレードが出来ない場合があります。)
 英語版の以外の Windows が動いている場合には忘れずに English Language Pack をインストールしてく

Notes: Windows パソコンは KIST IT Office からサポートを受ける事が出来ます。
無線 LAN 利用の手順
学校の無線 LAN を利用するには以下の手順が必要です
1. 使用したいラップトップパソコンが上記の仕様を満たしていること
2. 必要とされているソフトウエアがすべてインストールされていること
3. ノートパソコン登録フォームを提出する
4. IT Office で登録情報に間違えがないかのチェックを受ける
登録は生徒１名につき１台までとなり、ラップトップパソコンごとに必要となります。万が一修理等で一時的に別のノート
パソコンを持ち込んで使用する場合にも上記の手順に従って登録することが必要です。
