第2問
地球の資源が無限でないことが明らかである一方、とはいえ今日人間の使う量と比較した
とき、それらの資源は膨大な量であることがあらわされる。しかしながら、実際に私たちが
える資源は限られており、私たちはその資源が最終的には枯渇するであろうことを認識す
るべきである。言い換えれば、資源の枯渇というのはそれらの資源がすべて消えることであ
ろうことを意味しているのではなくて根本的には以下のようなことを意味する。
・次世代のために、利益率をかなり下げること
・膨大な量のエネルギーの使用が必要になるにつれて資源の獲得が難しくなること
・資源に依拠した生命活動を行うことが難しくなること
実際の点として、資源の枯渇は当該の資源の獲得における次の現象と同時におこる。
・資源の価格の上昇
・資源の獲得を通して増大する環境破壊
・資源使用に関して経済利点の損失
これらの枯渇し得る資源は、化石燃料、鉱石、土壌、そして、岩石である。
地球上に存在する土壌と鉱石の量は化石燃料と天然資源と比較して豊富である。けれども、
私たちがその手に入れられる資源の量が環境保護に関しての法律により監視することを考
えたとき、だれもその資源が枯渇しないとは言えない。
第3問
(1)Scientist, politicians and civil people ask the same questions. “How do we develop the
measure which makes the shocks caused by tsunamis or earthquakes relieved.” “What
depends on whether a system will be broken or returned.”
(2)It’s difficult to define the word, “resilience”. This is because the word is used in
different ways in each academic field. For example, in the engineer field, the word means
the prospectivity of structures, such as bridges or buildings, to become the original
condition after the structures are damaged.
(3)The word, “Sustainability” , is essential for the future of humanbeings. You should
always bear in mind the sustainability regardless of who you are, where you live, and
what you are doing if you want to contribute to the future of the earth.

第5問
(1)The word, “intuition” , means that we try to think of over and over again without
theories.
(2)When we use a supercomputer to design a new material, the computer tries to consider
hundreds of or thousands of compounds at the same time.
(3)I think the intuition is valid because I don’t think people completely solve all questions
of phenomena and physics has a lot of problems which aren’t still cleared by now, for
example, why a jet plane is flying. Certainly, the means of reliance on logic may be
effective, however , in unexplored or mysterious situations, the means doesn’t make
sense. In these situations, we have no choice, so we must rely on intuition. Therefore I
do think that the intuition plays an important part and that we need the intuition.
