A：当社は、新製品「Cyclone® IV」FPGAファミリを発表しました。Cyclone IV FPGAファミリは、
ローパワー・プロセスで適切に製造され、2種類の製品が用意されています。3.125 Gbps トラン
シーバを内蔵する「Cyclone IV GX」FPGAと、「Cyclone IV E」FPGAです。両製品ともに、幅広い
アプリケーションに適しています。Cyclone IV FPGAファミリは、性能を犠牲にすることなく、消費
電力とコストを削減し、トランシーバ内蔵という選択肢も提供するものです。
Q2：デバイスの出荷は、いつからですか?
A： Cyclone IV GXデバイス最初の製品となる「EP4CGX15」、およびCyclone IV Eデバイス最
初の製品となる「EP4C115E」は、2010年第1四半期より量産出荷を開始予定です。
Q3： Cyclone IV FPGAファミリは、どの市場をターゲットにしていますか?
A： Cyclone IV FPGAファミリは、ワイヤレス、ワイヤライン、放送機器、産業機器、民生機器、通
信機器などの低コスト、小型アプリケーションに最適です。Cyclone IV GX FPGAは、データ・レー
ト3.125Gbsまでの主要プロトコルを必要とする、コストを重視する小型アプリケーションを対象とし
ています。Cyclone IV E FPGAは、コストを重視する量産アプリケーションをターゲットとしており、
コストと消費電力を削減しつつ、増え続けるデータ処理の要求に対応するものです。例えば、携帯
型のソフト無線（Software-defined Radio）、ビデオ＆画像処理機器、携帯電話（ワイヤレス）の加
入者宅内装置などです。

Q4： Cyclone IV GX FPGAとは、どのような製品ですか?
A： Cyclone IV GXデバイスは、トランシーバを内蔵し、低コスト、低消費電力、多機能性のかつ
てない組み合わせを拡充したものです。最大15万個相当のロジック・エレメント（LE）、最大6.5Mビ
ットのRAM、最大360個の乗算器、最大8個の3.125Gbps統合トランシーバを備え、主要プロトコ
ルに対応しています。
Q5： Cyclone IV GX FPGAは、どのプロトコルをサポートしますか?
A： Cyclone IV GX FPGAは、PCI Express®、ギガビット・イーサネット(SGMII、1000BASE-X)、
SDI、10-Gbps Ethernet (XAUI)、CPRI、OBSAI、Serial RapidIO®、DisplayPort、V-by-One、

SATAなどの主要プロトコルをサポートします。また、トランシーバはベーシック・モードと呼ぶ汎用
モードもサポートしており、機能をカスタマイズして、データ・レート3.125Gbpsまでの各社独自の
プロトコルを実装することが可能です。

A： Cyclone IV E デバイスは、幅広いアプリケーションに対して、低コスト、低消費電力、多機能
性のかつてない組み合わせを提供し、最大 11.4 万個相当の LE、最大 3.9M ビットの RAM、最大
266 個の乗算器を備えています。Cyclone IV E FPGA は、Cyclone シリーズの低消費電力にお
けるリーダーシップを強化するもので、消費電力に厳しいアプリケーションにおいて、コア電圧を下
げ、トータル消費電力を 25％削減します。
【Quartus II 開発ソフトウェアについて】
Q7： Quartus II 開発ソフトウェア v9.1 の新しくなった点はどこですか？
A：「Quartus II 開発ソフトウェア v9.1」は、FPGA、CPLD、HardCopy® ASICの開発において、
業界で最も優れた性能と生産性を実現する開発ソフトウェアです。Quartus II v9.1ではアルテラ
の最新製品である「Cyclone IV FPGA」のサポートが新たに追加されました。また、前バージョン
と比べてコンパイル時間が20%短縮されており、競合の高集積40nmおよび65nmデザインと比較
すると、引き続き平均1/2から1/3のコンパイル時間を実現しています。
Q8： Quartus II 開発ソフトウェアによるCyclone IV FPGAのサポートは、いつから開始さ
れますか？
A： Cyclone IV GXの一部製品は、Quartus II v9.1で設計を開始することができます。全製品の
サポートは、「Quartus II v9.1 SP1」からとなります。
