ウィルチェアラグビー（車いすラグビー）日本代表のエース、池崎大輔がメルボル
ンで開催の FIERCE 4 RUGBY 競技大会に、西オーストラリアのチームの一員として
出場します。世界ランキングで日本は 4 位。代表チームが 1 位のオーストラリアから
は 5 チーム、そして 2 位のカナダ代表チームも出場します。日本のエースが世界の強
豪たちと対戦します。ぜひ会場でいっしょに応援しましょう！

ダで考案、現在 25 カ国に普及。四肢に障
害のある選手が 1 チーム 4 人で構成、バ
スケットボールのコートを利用する。バ
レーボールを改良したボールを持った選
手が、車いすの 2 輪をゴールラインに達
するか通過することにより得点となる。
タックルも認められており、当初はその
激しさから「マーダーボール（殺人球
技）」と呼ばれていた。 2000 年のシドニ
ーパラリンピックより公式種目になる。

Japan's leading Wheelchair Rugby player, Daisuke Ikezaki is coming to Melbourne to play at
FIERCE 4 RUGBY CHALLENGE with WA's West Coast Enforcers. Australia is World ranked
No.1 and the Canadian National team (No.2) is participating as well. Japan is No.4 and Ikezaki
is named as one of the best players in the world. Please come along and cheer for Ikezaki with
us!

Wheelchair Rugby:
Wheelchair Rugby was developed in
Canada and is an intense, physical team
sport for athletes with an impairment in both
upper and lower limbs. It made its debut as
a medal sport at the Sydney 2000
Paralympic Games. The sport is now
practiced in more than 25 different countries
and includes men and women on the same
teams. Two teams of at least four players
each compete for four periods of eight
minutes each.
