Tokushima locates Shikoku Island. In this instruction, we show the ways from Kansai Airport
(KIX) to Tokushima by railway and ship.

“Railway and ship” is the cheapest way to Tokushima. It costs only 2,000 yen. This is a special
offer for time limited service and regular price is 3,000 yen. But it takes longer time than bus. And
you have to change trains and ship in several times.
You ride train from KANSAI-KUKO to WAKAYAMA-KO (with several transfer) and take ship
from WAKAYAMA-KO to TOKUSHIMA-KO.

Go to KANSAI-KUKO railway station in front of Kansai Airport. There are two railway
companies, JR and NANKAI DENTETSU (NANKAI Electric Railway). Buy a ticket in the
NANKAI Electric railway ticket office telling that “Tokushima Skip 2000
(Tokushima Skip NI-SE-N)”. You will receive two tickets: first ticket for railways from
KANSAI-KUKO to WAKAYAMA-KO, second ticket for ship from WAKAYAMA-KO to
TOKUSHIMA-KO.

You have to show train ticket at KANSAI-KUKO gate. Take the local train (HUTSU) bound for
“Namba”. You can take the limited express train (TOKKYU) but it costs extra 100 yen from
KANSAI-KUKO to IZUMISANO.

Change Trains
Change the train at IZUMISANO (9minute, second stop from KANSAI-KUKO). Door
opens both sides at IZUMISANO. Left door opens first, and right door opens 10 second later. Get
off the train from the right door. It is convenient to change the train bound for WAKAYAMA-KO.
Take the Limited Express Southern bound for WAKAYAMA-KO. This train is
consisted 8 cars. Get on the 5th to 8th car with long sheets. Cars 1st to 4th are reserved seat car
(extra 500 yen).
Daytime train stops at WAKAYAMA-SHI station (SHI
bound for WAKAYAMA-KO (KO
means city). You have to change train

Boarding Ship from WAKAYAMA-KO to TOKUSHIMA-KO

Walk 3 minuets to the port in front of the WAKAYAMA-KO station. You do not need to go to
the ticket office because you have already bought your boarding ticket at KANSAI-KUKO. Go to
the waiting room. You can take a ship around 15 minuets before departure time. You have to show
ship ticket at the entrance of the ship.

There is a public bus transportation from Tokushima-KO (port) to Tokushima-EKI (railway
station).
It starts 6:55AM to 9:30PM (7:20AM to 9:25PM for Saturday, Sunday and Holiday).
IF YOU NOTICE YOUR ARRIVAL TIME AT TOKUSHIMA-KO BEFORE YOUR
DEPARTURE, WE WILL GO AND PICK YOU UP AT TOKUSHIMA-KO.

Put the ticket to WAKAYAMAKO (和歌山港) in the GATE Machine
Do not forget take your ticket from the gate machine.
If you forget it, You have to pay again for the Ticket.
IMPORTANT 切符はなくさないようにしてください。
You have to keep your ticket during your trip in JAPAN. If you lose or
broke your TICKT, You have to pay again for your TICKET.
