Frank Farella founded Farella-Park Vineyards in 1985 in a small, 400 square foot winery next to his
house in Napa. His long-sought goal to grow fine wine grapes from a modest, depres-sion-era
background was a story that unfolded slowly and steadily. Beginning with his Italian grandparents at
home, many home-made wines from the Napa and Alexander Valleys, and ultimately, a test vintage
in 1982 from young Farella Vineyard grapes, the commercial ven-ture began in 1985 as a barrel of
Chardonnay, a stainless fermented Sauvignon Blanc and a Merlot/Cabernet field blend.

ブラック・ナイト・ヴィンヤードは、1880年代から農業やワインに関わっており、
この土地では禁酒法
が施行される直前まで葡萄畑とワイナリーが運営されていた。その後、時代と共にリンゴ園、

マス・ツリー・ファーム、農場へと変わり、2000年に葡萄畑に戻る。ブラック・ナイト・ヴィンヤードは

The Black Knight Vineyard property has been in agriculture and wine going back to the 1880’s. This
property was a vineyard and winery that operated up to the Prohibi-tion era. In later years the
property has been an apple orchard, a Christmas tree farm, a dairy and finally back to vineyards in
2000. Black Knight Vineyards is still a farm with chickens and cattle but the main business is
vineyards.

ャー（ガラス瓶）から取っていた早期カリフォルニア時代のワイン造りへの回帰を意味している。
アンディ・ペストニは、ナパ・ヴァレーに深いルーツを持つ四世代目のワインメーカーである。アンデ
ィの曾祖父、アルビノ・ペストニは、1890年代後半にイタリアからセント・ヘレナに辿り着いた。ワイ
ン造りは彼らの伝統で、いまだにハウエル・マウンテンの麓に家族の手造りワイナリーであった名残
をもつ。アンディは、現代よりもっとシンプルだった頃を思わせるジェリー・ジャーでのワイン造りの伝
統を維持している。
Jelly Jar marks a return to early California winemaking, when Italian immigrants crafted food-friendly
wines to enjoy around the family table – most often out of jelly jars.
Andy Pestoni is a fourth generation wine-maker with deep roots in the Napa Valley. Andy’s
great-grandfather, Albino Pestoni, arrived in St. Helena in the late 1890’s from Italy and settled with
his family. Making wine was part of their heritage and remnants of the family’s original hand-built
winery still stands today at the base of Howell Mountain.

In 1880, William Keyes, a geologist, came to Napa Valley he discovered an area on Howell Mountain
where the soils re-minded him of that of Lipari Island, a vol-canic archipelago off the coast of Sicily. It
is there that he planted his vineyard and he called it Liparita-LaJota. (LaJota was part of a land
grant.) Twenty years later the wine began winning awards from around the world, including Paris in
1900. Liparita vanished with Prohibition and remained a ghost winery until Robert Burrows bought an
80-acre vineyard and the W.S. Keyes Winery there.

Miura (myu rä) is derived from Don Edu-ardo Miura, the most famous breeder of Spanish fighting
bulls; for the Spanish, Miura is a legendary name signifying nobility, bold-ness and power.
Miura was started by Emmanuel Kemiji in 1995 and focuses on what Kemiji feels are the best
regions in California for growing Pinot Noir. Within each of those regions Kemiji has selected the
vineyards that best exemplify that area stylistically and qualita-tively.

このあたりにジョセフ・フェルプス・バッカス、サー
・ピーター・マイケル、そしてダラ・ヴァレ、スクリーミング・イーグル、
ガルジウロとラッドなどの葡萄畑
が名を連ねるからだ。
The story begins thousands of years ago when a single mountain within the Vaca Range split in two
and collapsed resulting in a rubble field of volcanic core stones that face the setting sun. This event
created what is now the eastern border of the Oak-ville AVA, and is a site that is exposed to constant
and intense daily sunshine which results in grapes that possess extremely ripe tannins and
contribute to the unique ele-gance and approachability of the Oakville East wines. Because of the
‘magic’ of this place Oakville East could do no less than totally commit to producing wines reflective
of the site; making every step of winemak-ing and the viticulture process first class. For Oakville East
that means each of the 11 individual vineyards, average vine age of 16 years, that make up Oakville
East are micro farmed to exhibit their own unique quality.

Trent grew up in the vineyards of Napa Valley, spending many summers working at the family winery.
Upon graduating from the University of the Pacific with a BA in agricultural business, Trent joined the
family business at Livingston Vine-yards. There, with his father John Living-ston, he learned the
appreciation of wine-making from Livingston's first wine mak-er, Randy Dunn.

Y. Rousseau Wines is the realization of a dream that began long ago in the South-West of France
and evolved as Yannick Rousseau, French native, founder and winemaker, fol-lowed his heart and
passion for winemaking and the 'Joie de Vivre' he learned at home.
Yannick Rousseau, originally from South-West of France (Gascony), is an artisan pro-ducer based in
Napa Valley, California. In 2008, he started his small project with varie-tals that are close to his heart
and roots; first, Old Vines Colombard from Russian River Valley, then Cabernet Sauvignon and
Char-donnay from Mount Veeder, Napa Valley and more recently Tannat from Russian River and
from the highly acclaimed Alder Springs Vineyards.
