9th SwAPP Exchange Expertise Meeting 2016
15th March 2016, Kursaal Bern
Welcome
Dear Members and Friends of SwAPP
P4 Medicine: Personalized, Predictive, Preventive, Participatory
Personalized medicine will emerge — a medicine that focuses on the integrated diagnosis,
treatment and prevention of disease in individual patients:
•new approaches to diseases
•new measurement and visualization technologies, and
•new computational and analytical tools.
This will lead to changes in medicine and research, it will transform the nature of healthcare
from reactive to preventive.
What do we gain with P4 Medicine?
To name only a few: earlier detection of diseases, customized therapies for a patient, a
better understanding for targets in drug discovery, reduced health care costs, less adverse
drug reactions, better quality in health care services, improved outcome for a patient and
most of all, an empowered patient.
Symposium program
A variety of talks in the first part of the symposium will give you first-hand information about
the impact of P4 medicine for your daily work and what might be expected in future, if we
do not treat the collective but individual patients. We will continue with three parallel
experts’ workshops on Clinical Trials, Regulatory Affairs and Medical Devices.
All SwAPP members are invited to attend the Annual General Assembly, held just before the
ExEx meeting.
The SwAPP Board is looking forward to meeting you in Bern.
