Oxfam Deutschland e.V. (the association)
and Oxfam Deutschland Shops gGmbH (the
gGmbH) are managed strictly separate
from each other. Marion Lieser is the
executive director of the association. The
gGmbH is managed by Christel Kaestner.
The gGmbH is a 100% subsidiary of the
non-profit-making association and runs
the Oxfam shops which make an essential
financial contribution to the work of the
association and raise public awareness.

The five-member executive board appoints
and controls the executive director of the
association, it appoints the supervisory
board of the gGmbH as well as the managing director of the gGmbH. The gGmbH’s
supervisory board controls its managing
director. Executive board and supervisory
board strictly separate their control and
managerial duties from their executive /
managing directors and work largely
independent from each other.

Volunteers
The executive board and – partly – the
supervisory board is recruited from the
members of the association. The board
members of both organizations work on a
voluntary basis and do not receive any
compensation. The executive directors of
the association and the managing director
of the gGmbH are paid full-time employees.
