Outlines This short exchange program started in 2011 and is organized on the basis of the mutual agreement between Meiji SPSE and our partner universities in Thailand. This program includes nine special lectures related to politics / economics / international relations. We will prepare a variety of events, such as a three-day joint workshop with Meiji students, small / day trips to Kyoto and Kamakura, visits to places related to politics / economics (e.g., Tokyo Stock Exchange, Diet of Japan, etc.). In addition, we are arranging this program to be more international in 2016; Thai students will be able to communicate not only with Meiji students but also with Western Sydney University who will also be visiting Meiji University. For more information, please refer to the attached schedule. Students who can complete the whole program will receive a Certificate of Completion and could be approved for credits at your home institution. 1. Eligibility ① Students who belong to one of our partner departments: ※ Students must be registered at their home university until this program ends. ※ Our partner universities (departments) are… ・SRINAKHARINWIROT U (Faculty of Social Sciences・Economics and Public Policy・Humanities) ・CHULALONGKORN U (Faculty of Political Science・Economics) ・THAMMASAT U (Faculty of Political Science) ・KMITL (Administration and Management College) ・PRINCE OF SONGKLA U (Faculty of Economics) ・CHIANG MAI U (Faculty of Economics・Political Science and Public Administration) ② Students who can submit one of the following English Proficiency Certificates, or any other English proficiency test certificates with equal scores: TOEIC 550, TOEFL iBT 57, IELTS 5.0, CU-TEP 60 or above. ③ Students who are healthy both physically and mentally with no worries about participating in this program in Japan. ④ Students who agree with our commitment and can act in a group. 2. Number of Participants 25 students 3. Program Term Late June~mid-July, 2016 (About three weeks) 4. Program Fee in Japan JPY 250,000〜300,000 ※ Includes special lectures at Meiji, joint workshop at Yamanaka Seminar House, small / day trips, hotels etc. ※ Does NOT include flights between Bangkok and Japan, and traveler’s insurance. ※ The exact amount of the fixed fee will be issue in March after all participants are decided in February, 2016. ※ The provision of JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship cannot be guaranteed, but if this program is elected by JASSO, eligible students will be given the scholarship. (JPY80,000 / person in 2015). In that case, students who passed the JASSO GPA requirement must submit application documents and reports. In addition, eligible students must submit an official academic transcript after credits were given. 5. Application Period Monday. 1 February, 2016 〜 Friday. 26 February, 2016 (3pm in Thai time) 6. Application Method Please confirm all of the 【6.Application Documents】and submit to your department’s officer. 8. Screening and Acceptance Result Participants will be decided by document renew. In the case of a surplus of applicants, there will be an interview by the Meiji ASEAN Center (MAC). Acceptance results will be announced by the end of March through each department’s officer. 9. After decided ~ Coming to Japan ① Paying for round flight (Bangkok⇔Tokyo) as instructed by MAC in April. ② Applying and paying for traveler’s insurance as instructed by MAC in April. ③ Paying the program fee in Japan to Meiji SPSE account by bank transfer in April. ④ Applying for your visa instructed by your department’s officer with an invitation letter issued by Meiji SPSE in May. ⑤ All participants have to take the same flight and use a chartered bus to the hotel. 10. Issuing ” Certificate of Completion” for This Program The “Certificate of Completion” will be issued for attendance at this program and performance at the final presentation. More details will be presented at the orientation at Meiji university on the first day.
