Whole / hole
Life is like walking on a staircase,
where we constantly climb upwards,
rushing to see a more spectacular view,
however, time is not in our control, and thus,
the beauty we experienced is impossible to hold onto.
We move on and on, together with the time,
and with people that have been significant.
So, we will love and remember those
who have tried so hard to take care of us.
One day, we reach to the final destination,
what’s left in this world is pure love.
Please, inherit this love.
Here, you can see a light installation work that expresses the meaning
of life from my humble opinion. There are 14 small houses that create
a domino effect outside of the hole, the continuation of the light source
represents a kind of inheritance. The vision of the viewer will be lead
into the hole in the snow, where they will see a sculpture with a LED
pool in the middle, sectioned into 14 parts, and the wired rectangles
are representing 14 steps in the staircase, which carries stories
happening in different stages in life, starting from a baby, full of
curiosity, trying to climb up the stairs, to an adult taking the
responsibility to educate its child… Until one day, we are too old to
keep on climbing, so we rest in heaven. You will see shadows casted
onto the snow wall around it. Only one at the time, ascending from the
bottom of the hole. As it is coming towards you, together, it creates a
whole. And please remember, to inherit this love.
井戸（いど）
人生とは、いわゆる階段を登るようなものである。みんなは、もっと美しい風景を目指して、上昇へ急いで上がっている。しかし、時間は人間がコントロールできるものではな
いから、見た美しさは仕方なく消えていく。人間は、時間の経過につれて、大切な人と先に歩む。だから、世話になった大切な人を愛して、忘れない。いざ、この人生の最後の日に至ったら、この世に残るのは、愛しかな
い。この愛を継承してください。このライトインスタレーションは人生の意味を表す作品になってい
る。作品は、14っ個の小屋は穴の外側にドミノ倒れのような効果を生
み出し、照明の継続的な配置は受け継いでいくことを描いている。鑑
賞者の立場は雪に掘った穴の上となり、そこからは、穴の真ん中にあ
るLEDプールと彫刻が観れる。彫刻は螺旋階段の形で、人生の14のス
テップを表現する部分に分かれている。ステップは、好奇心の高く、
どこでも登りたがる赤ちゃんの段階から責任を持って、子供を教育す
る大人までの段階を始め、登る体力を失って天国に旅たつ老後を最後
に、この人生の各段階とその間のつながりを表す。鑑賞者は穴の内壁
に落ちる人生の段階を表す影を見れる。影は一つずつ、穴の底からく
るっと鑑賞者の方へ上がっていく。影の継続性で作品の全体性が現れ
る。この愛を継承するのを忘れないように。
