＜香道御家流木の会主宰谷川ちぐさ先生を迎えて＞
香の愉しみを高次な芸術の世界へと昇華させた『香道』は、日本の多種多様な伝統文化が最も集約されていると
言われています。何百年にもわたり先人たちが大切に伝えてきた優雅な香りの文化をお楽しみになりませんか。香道
御家流師匠の谷川ちぐさ先生をお迎えし、様々なテーマで香遊びをご指導頂いております。香道では、香りをかぐこ
とを“聞く”『聞香（もんこう）』と表現し、心を澄まして香りにふれながら、香りの奥深さを楽しみます。様々なテーマのイ
メージを表す香を数種類組み合わせて焚く『組香』と呼ばれるゲーム形式になった香遊びをご紹介致します。テーマに
選ぶのは、季節にあった和歌や漢詩、そして物語り。
今回のテーマは清少納言が『枕草子』でも「春はあけぼの」と綴った春の曙。三つの春の曙の歌を証歌（テーマ）にした
「三曙香」を、春夏秋冬を愛でる日本人の美意識と共にご紹介下さいます。初めて香道に接する方でも楽しくご参
加頂ける大変貴重な機会です。優雅な古人の遊びを是非一度ご体験頂きたくご案内申し上げます。

Introduction to Kodo ≪Sansho-ko (Appreciation of Spring Dawn)≫
Kodo, the appreciation of incense, has a history of over 600 years, and is considered to be one of the purest
forms of Japanese culture. Our guest, Mrs. Chigusa Tanikawa, will guide us through this evening of appreciation of Kodo and its various implements. At this lesson, Mrs. Tanikawa will introduce the game of Sansho-ko,
commemorating the arrival of spring with appreciation for beautiful spring dawn. This is an incensecomparing game, which has been played for almost 300 years.
The game, Sansho-ko, will be based on images derived from three poems and each poem praises the beauty of
spring dawn. In the game, participants have to guess the aromatic material of the incense used. In Kodo, we
say that one listens to the incense rather than simply smelling it. This will be a wonderful opportunity to
learn firsthand about this unique and rarely practiced tradition. Please be sure to put this on your calendars!
