These members were mainly comprised of young participants 4 between the age of 18 through to 29 and came from all around the world including such countries as Brazil, Ecuador, Holland, Germany, Sweden, Important Information おもなじょうほう Recycling Corner リサイクルコーナー Editor’s Note へんしゅうしゃのことば 5, 6, 7 America and England. While they were here, these participants interacted with the local residents by visiting numerous elementary, junior and senior high schools, day care centres, and attended community events. Such events 7 included participation in Sumo Wrestling, Syourinji-kenpo, farming and agricultural experience, Sports festivals, and even a meeting with the 7 Mayor! The final gathering was the Up With People Event which was held at the Nihongo Tip にほんごコーナー Seika Growth Watch じんこうのうごき Mukunoki Center and was staged primarily with the members of the Up With 7 People group. Although there was a language barrier, the group of Seika citizens and the Up With People members exchanged through the medium of 8 songs, games and dances, communicating through body language and hand gestures. Lunch was then prepared by volunteers, who were members of the Ichigo Corner/Aim いちごコーナー/もくてき 8 Festivals & National Holidays さいじつ・ぎょうじ 8 Seika Global Network, which had an international flavour and suited all tastes and customs. The weeks events were enjoyed by all, local residents and Up With People members alike, and brought a true international community exchange to the town of Seika.
