It has an estimated 13,000 direct beneficiaries. The securities will be placed at UBI Banca Group branches from 24th November 2014 until 31st December 2014. Milan, 24th November 2014 - UBI Banca announces the issue of the social bond “UBI Comunità per Federazione Italiana per il Superamento dell’Handicap” for a total amount of €20 million, part of the income from which will constitute a charitable donation to the UBI Comunità per Federazione Italiana per il Superamento dell’Handicap Onlus, which will use it to implement an innovative project for the social inclusion of persons with disabilities. The “Inclusion 2.0” project supported by UBI Banca is aimed at 10,000 persons with disabilities and their families and will involve 3,000 specialist workers. It will provide the beneficiaries with easier access to rights and opportunities and they will receive support on a programme to develop their personal autonomy. More specifically, thanks to the most advanced technologies it will allow FISH to provide knowledge, experiences, sources and data acquired over the years on a single IT platform, in order to offer highly customised information in real time. This organised information will be used to improve the customised advisory and support activities provided daily by hundreds of specialist workers. They will therefore be able to improve their support services in schools, their occupational counselling services, their mobility assistance and their support in general in various ways in the everyday lives of persons with disabilities. The bonds, issued by UBI Banca, have a minimum subscription price of €1,000 a life of three years, half yearly coupons and a gross annual yield of 1%. They may be subscribed from 24th November 2014 until 31st December 2014, unless the offer period is closed early or extended. The bonds will not be listed on any regulated market or multilateral trading system: they will be traded directly without intermediary by the placement agents as part of the own-account trading service. The rate of return on the social bond is in line with the yield on similar bonds issued by UBI Banca and on government bonds with the same maturity. The total charitable donation made to the Federazione Italiana per il Superamento dell’Handicap could reach €100,000 if the entire face value of the bond offered is subscribed. It is also possible to support the Federazione Italiana per il Superamento dell’Handicap directly by making a credit transfer to a current account (IBAN IT81C0504801672000000038939) at UBI Banca Popolare Commercio & Industria, by means of the Qui UBI Internet Banking service (“Solidarity credit transfers”) with no charges for the transaction or at UBI Banca Group branches, with no fees or commissions charged for both customers and non-customers alike. “People with disabilities lie at the centre of our work” – said Vincenzo Falabella, President of the Federazione Italiana per il Superamento dell'Handicap – “Our goal is to promote inclusion in society thereby going beyond an old-fashioned welfare approach which leads to segregation, marginalisation and discrimination. Our project – Persons, not burdens “Inclusion 2.0” – which has met with interest and support from UBI Banca, is designed to ensure that persons with disabilities and their families have an advanced and customised IT system which allows these citizens to be protagonists, aware of the choices that concern their lives. To support this initiative means understanding that money spent on inclusion is not unproductive, but an investment.” “With this social bond we want to support FISH’s choice to create a highly advanced service for persons with disabilities, able to provide customised recommendations” – said Rossella Leidi, Deputy General Manager at UBI Banca – “we feel that this project is distinguished by its great civic sense, it’s modernity and its openness to the possibilities that technology has to offer, which the skills and sensibilities of the people at FISH will know how to exploit effectively. With UBI Community and social bonds, UBI Banca supports the most innovative initiatives in the third sector, offering prompt and effective responses to the needs of nonprofit organisations by means of products specially developed to provide banking and credit support for the management of everyday activities, projects and investments”.
