Nato il 14 dicembre 1947, Mr. Fedotov si è laureato alla Istituto di Relazioni
Internazionali di Mosca (MGIMO) e ha intrapreso la carriera diplomatica.
Prima di rivestire gli attuali incarichi, è stato per cinque anni Ambasciatore
Straordinario e Plenipotenziario della Federazione Russa alla Corte St. James di
Londra.
Dal 2002 al 2005 è stato Ministro degli Esteri della Federazione Russa per le
Organizzazioni Internazionali; è stato inoltre membro del Collegio dei
Commissari della Commissione di monitoraggio, verifica e ispezione delle
Nazioni Unite per l'Iraq (UNMOVIC).
Dal 1999 al 2002 è stato direttore del Dipartimento Organizzazioni
Internazionali, e membro del consiglio di amministrazione del Ministero per gli
Affari Esteri della federazione Russa. In precedenza, dal 1993 al 1999, è stato
Rappresentante Permanente della Federazione russa alle Nazioni Unite di New
York, dove si è occupato del Consiglio di Sicurezza e degli Affari Generali
dell'Assemblea, così come di numerose altre problematiche legate alle principali
organizzazioni delle Nazioni Unite. Dal 1988 al 1993 ha lavorato al Ministero
degli Esteri a Mosca come Direttore del Dipartimento delle Organizzazioni
Internazionali.
Ha iniziato la sua carriera diplomatica nel 1972 come membro della delegazione
USSR al Comitato delle Nazioni Unite per il Disarmo a Ginevra.
Successivamente ha assunto una serie di incarichi diplomatici a Mosca, e presso
le Ambasciate in Algeria e in India.
Mr. Fedotov detiene il titolo di Membro Onorario del servizio diplomatico della
Federazione Russa. Ha inoltre ricevuto l’attestato di stima da parte del
Presidente della Federazione Russa.

Mr. Fedotov was born on 14 December 1947, he graduated from the Moscow
State Institute of
International Relations (MGIMO) and now he is a career
diplomat.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Fedotov served as Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Court of
St. James's in London for five years.
From 2002 to 2005 Ambassador Fedotov served as Deputy Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the Russian Federation for International Organizations. In his
personal capacity, he was also a member of the College of Commissioners of
the UN Commission on Monitoring and Verifications in Iraq (UNMOVIC).
From 1999 to 2002 Mr. Fedotov was Director of the Department of
International Organizations, Member of the Board of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the Russian Federation. Prior to that, from 1993 to 1999 he was
Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United
Nations in New York, where he dealt with Security Council and General
Assembly affairs as well as other numerous issues related to leading United
Nations bodies and organizations. From 1988 to 1993 Mr. Fedotov worked in
the Foreign Ministry in Moscow as Deputy Director of the Department of
International Organizations.
Mr. Fedotov started his foreign service in 1972 as a member of the USSR
delegation to the United Nations Disarmament Committee in Geneva. He
subsequently took up a number of diplomatic assignments in Moscow, as well
as at the Embassies in Algeria and India.
Mr. Fedotov holds the title of Honorary Mhas Member of the Diplomatic
Service of the Russian Federation, he has also received the Certificate of
Appreciation from the President of the Russian Federation.
