al Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica, Energetica e Gestionale (DIMEG) dell'Università
dellaCalabria.
Da oltre venti anni si occupa di tematiche teorico‐sperimentali riguardanti l’utilizzazione
dell’energia solare che hanno condotto alla costruzione di alcuni impianti prototipo presso
l’UniversitàdellaCalabria.
E’ responsabile del Laboratorio di Energetica dell'Edificio della stessa Università.
E’ co‐autore di 124 lavori scientifici oltre un testo di Termodinamica Applicata, un testo di
IngegneriasolareeduntestodiEnergetica.

Prof.Eng.MarioA.Cucumo,borninToranoCastello(CS)on12.06.1954,hegraduatedwith
honors in Industrial Engineering Technology (majoring in Mechanics) at the University of
CalabriaOctober10,1979.
He started collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of
CalabriainJuly1980.
He became Assistant Professor of Applied Physics at the Faculty of Engineering of the
UniversityofCalabriafrom12/16/1983to31/10/1992.
He covered the role of Associate Professor at the same university as Professor of
Thermotecnics,from1/11/1992to31/10/1995,andasaprofessorofHeatTransfer,from
1/11/1995to19/12/2003.
HehasbeenFullProfessorofAppliedPhysicsattheUniversityofCalabriafrom20/12/2003.
Since September 26, 2013 he has been the Coordinator of the Study Course in Energy
Engineering in the Department of Mechanical, Energetics and Management Engineering
(DIMEG)oftheUniversityofCalabria.
For over twenty years he has been dealing with issues of theoretical and experimental
investigations concerning the use of solar energy that led to the construction of several
prototypesystemsattheUniversityofCalabria.
He is Head of the Laboratory of Building Energetics of the same University.
He is co‐author of over 124 scientific papers, a text of Applied Thermodynamics, a text of
SolarEngineeringandatextofEnergetics.
