THE INITIATIVE
ADC Group is glad to welcome you to the 9th edition of EuBEA, the European Best Event Awards, the initiative that recognizes
and promotes excellence in events and live communication across Europe.
Created in 2006 to foster and advance the importance of events in the marketing plans of any organization, EuBEA has helped
participating agencies from 25 different European countries in finding new inspiration and new ideas for their events.
In 2014, EuBEA will establish a new landmark for the Event Industry, by transforming a traditional Event Award into a truly
Live Communication experience, with the introduction of live presentations of the shortlisted events to the Corporate Jury and
a newly conceived interactive way of showcasing their work to the entire event community. The EuBEA Awards will offer the
occasion not only to celebrate but also to exchange ideas and create business opportunities with top professionals from all
over Europe.
Over two days in October (23rd and 24th) the whole European Event Industry will come together in Seville at the EuBEA
Festival – the First International Festival of Events and Live Communication – to learn from the best practices and
to celebrate the work changing and innovating the Live communications landscape.
The Jury Panel, which includes some of the best and brightest personalities among the top corporate clients with EMEA
responsibilities, will grant all winning events an indisputable international quality acknowledgement. A Press and a Delegate
Award will also be assigned by Trade Journalists and by the vote of the Delegates attending the Festival.
Quality at EuBEA means creativity, effectiveness, direction, technique, setting, location, press return, sustainability that, along
with all other “ingredients”, make an event a live communication and a rewarding experience for the audience. Big, as well as
small events have the same chances to win the first prize, regardless of their budget: the most important criteria are the creativity
and innovation of the event.
Participating in EuBEA 2014 offers the events’ organizers the opportunity of:
 Increasing the importance of events in the marketing mix of their company/clients
 Presenting live the shortlisted events to the Corporate Jury Panel at the EuBEA Festival
 Participating at the EuBEA Festival with a complimentary Delegate pass
 Meeting different cultural approaches to enrich the creativity and innovation of their events
 Facing the challenge at European level as a stimuli to improve the quality of their events
 Receiving qualified visibility and press return at European level
 Making their events last for the whole year with their presence in the European Events Annual and EuBEA website
 Winning one of the awards – Category, Technical Excellences, Special, Press and Delegate Awards
KEY DATES

Eligibility: events must have taken place in the period between 1st July 2013 and 29th August 2014

Call for entries: from 16th June to 29th August 2014

Deadline for the entries submission: 29th August 2014

Shortlisted events announcement: 21st October 2014

Jury meeting and Live presentation of shortlisted events: 23rd October 2014

Award Ceremony and Closing Gala: 24th October 2014
ELIGIBILITY
Who can enter:

Clients (Corporate), events agencies, public relations / communication / promotion / advertising / web agencies,
production houses, public bodies, associations etc. that are based in Europe.

Entrants can be public or private events, that have taken place anywhere in the world between 1st July 2013 and 29th
August 2014.
Each organization can enter as many events as they want.

JURY AND EVALUATION PROCESS
EuBEA Jury members are chosen among the top corporate clients with EMEA responsibility plus four members of Event
associations.
Early October, a first jury session will review all entries from the EuBEA online platform to define the shortlisted events.
On October 23rd, at the EuBEA Festival in Seville, all shortlisted events will have the chance to be presented live to the Corporate
Jury in a public session. The Corporate Jury will then determine the winners of each EuBEA Category and the EuBEA Golden
Elephant.
A Trade Press Jury panel will assign the EuBEA Press Award among the shortlisted events.
The Delegates attending the EuBEA Festival will constitute the Delegate Jury, giving their vote to determine the EuBEA
Delegates Award.
On the 24th October, the winners will be proclaimed during a spectacular EuBEA Award Ceremony in Seville.
AWARDS & TROPHIES
Winners will receive the trophies and the official online banners of the award from the organizers in order to enhance the
acknowledgement on the agency/company communication.
1 EUROPEAN BEST EVENT AWARD
Awards assigned to the event that, among the participant was able to combine all the required features for an outstanding
performance and will achieve the highest score on the whole evaluation from the jury panel.

The technical excellences are the criteria used by the jurors to evaluate the events.

Best Creativity – Best creative idea: awarded for originality and creativity

Best Execution – Best direction, best staging / set design, best audio / video / lighting production

Best Channel Strategy – Consumer engagement through all the different channels

Best Effectiveness – Results achieved in terms of awareness, press returns, consumer engagement, etc…

Best B2B Event: Events targeted to business/trade partners such as launch events, congress/conference, incentive, etc.

Best B2C: Events targeted to the final consumer such as launch events, roadshows, celebrations, public events etc.

Best B2I (Business to Internal) / Convention: Events aimed at internal representatives and/or members of an
organization; conventions for dealers etc.

Best Launch Event: Events specifically designed to launch a new product or service

Best Non Profit / Social Service Event: Events committed to a social issue or with non-profit goals

Best Congress / Conference: Meetings of representatives of a profession, trade body, or other interest group to present
and discuss a specific area of common interest targeted to an audience external to the company

Best Public Event: Events promoted by local governments and authority/council

Best Roadshow: Events developed in different locations and timings with the same concept, aimed to both trade and
consumers

Best Sport Event: Sport Events organized by a corporate that match sports with show and entertainment in an original
and engaging way, targeted to the final consumer

Best Musical Event: Musical entertainment/performances such as concerts, musical comedies/dramas, music festivals,
etc. organized by a private company

Best Celebration / Festivity: Ceremonies to celebrate or commemorate a recurrence, an anniversary or any other special
occasion

Best Incentive: Incentive travels involving internal or external company targets

Best Team Building: Team building events involving internal or external company targets

Best Educational / Training Event: Events with training/educational goals aimed at any kind of audience

Best Hybrid Event: Award to the best event which synchronously combines live and digital activities (social, mobile, blog..)

Best Cultural Event: Events that combine cultural impact with show and entertainment values in an original and engaging
way

Best Sustainable Event: Events planned to minimize their environmental impact or that significantly contribute to social
and economic development

Best In-store Event: Event carried out at the point of purchase

Best Trade Show: Exhibitions / Expo organized into a specific industry to showcase new products, services, studies etc.

Best Integrated Event: The best event that has been developed to include at least three of the event types-categories
listed above

SPECIAL AWARDS
All entered events are suitable to compete for the Special Awards, regardless of the category they are entered in.
Special awards cannot be entered autonomously: they will be automatically assigned on the basis of results achieved in each of
the 20 categories.
BEST EVENT AGENCY
Award to the agency whose events will have totaled the highest overall score from categories and technical excellences
BEST EVENT COMPANY
Award to the company whose events will have totaled the highest overall score from categories and technical excellences
BEST TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION
Award to the most innovative technology used in an event that determined its success
BEST USE OF SPACE/ENVIRONMENT/SETTING
Award to the most innovative and distinctive choice and use of an event setting
BEST CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR
Award to the Creative Director whose commitment contributed to the success of the events in the competition
BEST LOW BUDGET EVENT
Award to the best and most complete event carried out with a budget lower than 50,000 Euros
PRESS AWARD
Award assigned by the press for its favourite event
DELEGATE AWARD
Award assigned by the delegates for their favourite event
BEST EVENT EVALUATION AWARD
Award to the agency which best measured an event effectiveness in relation to its goals

Register online and fill in the forms on www.eubeafestival.com website in the “enter your work” section.
No other submission method will be accepted.
All entries materials must be delivered by 29th August 2014 as described on the online technical form.
