Incontournable photographe de mode italien, Antonio Guccione a travaillé pour d’importantes
campagnes publicitaires pour Gucci, Prada, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent et d’autres
immortalisant des femmes parmi les plus belles du monde. Des portraits nets et naturels de
femmes « qui doivent être resplendissantes d’authenticité et être des icones de style
et de beauté ».
On retrouve son œuvre dans différentes publications et notamment Absolute Statehood, Faces
of New York, Fashion and Faces. Antonio Guccione a ainsi immortalisé Richard Gere, Dustin
Hoffmann, Kate Moss, Tyra Banks, Giorgio Armani, Federico Fellini, Roberto Bolle… Un
travail qui brille toujours par l’absence de retouche.
Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas. Une vanité est une nature morte dont la composition
allégorique suggère le vide de l’existence terrestre, la précarité et le peu d’importance de la
vie humaine. « Skulls », est le travail le plus récents et le plus personnel d’Antonio Guccione.
Après la mode en papier glacé c’est un voyage, une invitation à la réflexion qu’il nous
propose en mettant ironiquement en scène les crânes de grands personnages du passé.
