1. Kick-off Working Group "Museums and creative industries:
Mapping cooperation"
facilitated by Ineta Zelca Simansone, Creative Museum
The meeting includes a presentation and video delivered by Creative Museum to
illustrate emerging cooperation among creative industries and the museum
sector in Latvia. This is followed by a group discussion and agenda setting for
the working group about similar practices in their countries and to join the
working group in order to map cooperation among creative industries and the
museum sector in Europe.

2. Kick-off LEM – The Learning Museum Working Group
Facilitated by Margherita Sani, Istituto Beni Culturali Emilia Romagna
LEM – The Learning Museum (www.lemproject.eu) is a network of 88 museums,
museum organisations and learning institutions which started in 2010 to explore
the fields of museum education, audience development, intercultural dialogue &

lifelong learning. In 2014, LEM has been incorporated into NEMO to become a
permanent Working Group. On this meeting old and new members will discuss
how to continue LEM’s work in the future. In addition, the Group will have the
opportunity to liaise with other international networks such as MuseumEd (US)
and Museum Mediators.

3. How to lobby politicians: internships and other tips
Facilitated by Margriet de Jong and Ester Fabriek, Netherlands Museums
Association
This workshop is a mixture of theory, videos and practical experience. We start
with a short introduction on lobbying. Then we show our format based on the
five social values. It is a one day hands on internship format for politicians
(national and local). We show two videos of politicians who participated and then
it is time for you to design your own programme.

Working Groups and Workshops II
1. LEM Working Group – Study visit
Facilitated by Margherita Sani, Istituto Beni Culturali Emilia Romagna
This activity includes the visit of 1-2 museums in Bologna that carry out
innovative and audience targeted museum education projects. A guided tour
through the museum followed by a discussion about the educational framework is
part of the programme.

2. Museum change lives campaign
Facilitated by Sharon Heal, head of publications and events, and David Anderson,
president, Museums Association, and director-general, Amgueddfa Cymru National Museum Wales.
The presentation is on Museums Change Lives (MCL) the Museums Association’s
vision for the increased social impact of museums. MCL demonstrates that
museums can be ambitious about their role in society and that all museums,
however they are funded and whatever their subject matter, can support positive
social change. The workshop will look at how museums can achieve positive
social impact and explore our role in fostering wellbeing; creating better places;
and engaging with ideas and people.
