PRESS RELEASE WITH OVER 15THOUSAND VISITORS WHITE CONFIRMS ITS LEADERSHIP IN WOMEN’S FASHION EXHIBITIONS White Milan, the largest exhibition of contemporary fashion supported by the Municipality of Milan, confirms its position as the leading trade fair for women's collections, recording more than 15 thousand visitors, in line with the results of the February edition of 2012, and with the constant presence of the best shops and department stores worldwide. Via Tortona is now completely White: After merging with two floors of the Nhow hotel, White has unified under the same contagious energy its three exhibition areas: Via Tortona 27, Via Tortona 54 and via Tortona 35 with the newly White Suite, and a lounge for accredited buyers, finally connected to each other. With 600 international journalists accredited, 417 exhibitors (+20% compared to February 2012) of which 189 new entries, the show has focused its winning strategy on the nobility of the Italian product (101 new entries are companies from Italy), while not forgetting names of great international importance such as Zucca, Opening Ceremony, the brand of Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the Kenzo designer, Toga Pulla, B Store, Markus Lupfer and Swear London. White Suite, the new start-up exhibition, hosted 56 brands and a guest designer: Andrea Provvidenza, the author of brand’s Lodental success. A.I. Remove, guest of the Lounge area, equipped with a special innovative system based on rotating photography, brought 18 young artisans in Milan: Ludovica Amati, Chiara Baschieri, Pesceepatata, Marcomartino, Leopardessa and Res Nullius (clothing); D'Inzillo, Katerina Kouzmina, Ligneah, Badura, Lucilla Paci and Simone Rainer (belts and bags); Claudia Chianese, Bucklecar di Portonovo and Vernissage by Matteo Mena and Ilenia Corti (jewelry); Federica Moretti and Ely.B. (hats), Chiara Cola (printed fabrics) that have been a big hit among buyers and the press. And the number of exhibitors at Inside White is also doubled, the area devoted to companies that have been on the market for a few seasons, such as Astrid Sarkissian, the twenty-five-year-old Parisian neo-designer graduated last year at Central St. Martin School in London, who has chosen Italy and White to present her first collection of scarves. Awarded with the Inside Award by Beppe Angiolini - President of the Chamber of Italian buyers and number one of Sugar boutiques in Arezzo - Astrid Sarkissian will return as a guest of White at the next September edition. In collaboration with Altaroma, created to enhance the excellence of Italian hand made products, White organized an event among the most popular in the Milanese fashion week: the exhibition Be Blue Be Balestra -A Homage To Renato Balestra, held on Sunday, February 24th, at the newborn PROGETTOCALABIANAMILANO hub. A tribute of contemporary fashion to the tradition of Italian couture from 18 young designers, who have created as many clothes and accessories in Balestra-blue: Alessandro D'Amico, Benedetta Bruzziches, Carta e Costura, Caterina Gatta, Covherlab by Marco Grisolia, Greta Boldini, San Andres Milan and Sara Lanzi proposed by AltaRoma, along with White A-Lab Milano, Alessandra De Tomaso, Comeforbreakfast, EleonoraNiccolai, Flavia La Rocca, Francesco Ballestrazzi, Gianni Serra, Giulia Gobbi, Simone Rainer and Sofia Bertolli selected by White among the most cool names of the Italian avantgarde.
