De Kick-off is de officiële start van het Europees Muziekfestival voor de Jeugd in
Neerpelt. De kinderen van Neerpelt heten de vele internationale deelnemers welkom
in een wervelende show. Dit jaar mogen we hoog bezoek verwachten: de 200.000ste
deelnemer zal zich aanmelden! Hij/zij zal speciaal in de bloemetjes gezet worden tijdens
deze sprankelende en muzikale start van het Festival.
The Kick-off is the official start of the European Music Festival for Young People in Neerpelt.
The children of Neerpelt bid the many international participants a warm welcome in a
dazzling show. This year, we should expect an important visitor: the 200,000th participant
will sign up! He/she will be rewarded during this sparkling and musical start of
the Festival.

Na de succesvolle edities van vorige jaren, laten we ook dit jaar
iedereen proeven van “A Taste of Neerpelt”, een totaalspektakel
met muziek, vuurwerk en culinaire hoogstandjes. Voor dit
openingsfeest heeft het EMJ nogmaals de handen in elkaar geslagen met haar culturele
partners, de gemeente Neerpelt en plaatstelijke handelaars en verenigingen. Iedereen
is reeds vanaf 18.00 uur van harte welkom op het Marktplein van Neerpelt met een lege
maag en een verlangen naar spektakel. “A Taste of Neerpelt” belooft opnieuw een uniek
event te worden en zal Neerpelt en het EMJ doen bruisen vanaf de eerste minuut!
After successful editions of previous years, this year also, everyone can have “A Taste of
Neerpelt”, a spectacle with music, fireworks and culinary delights. For this opening party the
EMJ has once again joined forces with its cultural partners, the Neerpelt authorities and local
dealers and associations. Everyone is welcome as early as 18h00 on the market square of
Neerpelt with an empty stomach and a longing for spectacle. “A Taste of Neerpelt” promises
to be a unique event again and will make Neerpelt and the EMJ glow right from the start!

Five Dimensions is een muzikale avond die je meeneemt naar een nieuwe muzikale
dimensie. Twee topgroepen met lokale oorsprong zorgen voor een contrasterende
synergie. Neerpeltenaar Pieter Pellens vormt samen met 4 internationale collegasaxofonisten het saxofoonkwintet FiveSax. Dit bonte gezelschap neemt je mee op reis
naar hun verschillende muzikale en culturele achtergronden. De sax zoals je ze nog nooit
gezien en gehoord hebt.
Als contrast hebben we New Dimensions. Dit is percussie van een nieuwe dimensie.
“We make noise sound like Music!” is hun slogan. Alles wat geluid maakt kunnen deze
percussionisten bespelen.

In het kader van de Week van de Amateurkunsten - die dit jaar speciaal aandacht wil
schenken aan lokale helden - willen wij een tweede bruisende avond met muziek
organiseren in het centrum van Neerpelt. Met trots stelt het EMJ u dit openluchtconcert
voor dat is samengesteld uit onze Noord-Limburgse helden. Een mooie balans tussen
bekend en opkomend talent aangevuld met onze lokale handelaars om de smaakpapillen eveneens te verwennen.
Following the idea of the “Week van de Amateurkunsten” - paying special attention to local
heroes this year - we wish to organize a second sparkling music evening in the centre of
Neerpelt. It is with pride that the EMJ presents this open air concert, formed by our North
Limburg heroes. A nice balance between well-known and new, upcoming talent topped up
by our local traders to spoil the taste buds as well.

Wat voor anderen misschien lang duurt, ging voor Stijn Meuris als een bliksemflits:
25 jaar muziek van Noordkaap, Monza tot Meuris flitste voorbij. Dit jubileum gaat
gepaard met de nieuwe single ‘Kommer & Kwel’, een nieuwe cd en een knappe
verzamelvinylbox. Deze Limburgse frontman en zijn voortreffelijke band starten
eind april hun jubileumjaar in de AB. Daarna doen ze het Festival aan en staan ze dus
op het podium van Northern Nights Festival.
What takes a long time for others, for Stijn Meuris passed as a flash of lightning: 25 years
of music by Noordkaap, Monza and all the way to Meuris flashed by. This anniversary is
accompanied by the new single ‘Kommer & Kwel’, a new cd and a collectors vinyl box.
This Limburg frontman together with his excellent band will start this jubilee year in
the AB late April, after which they will visit the EMJ and can be seen on the main stage at
the Northern Nights Festival.
