Making TEMPO with Daily Disposables - Robin Chalmers OD, FAAO, FBCLA
All contact lens wearers would like to wear their contact lenses in a very comfortable way. In this lecture, Robin
Chalmers will address the improvement in safety, symptoms, comfortable wearing time and compliance after
a large sample of patients were refit with hydrogel or silicone hydrogel Daily Disposable lenses and surveyed for
a year in the TEMPO Registry of Daily Disposable Lenses. Rates of corneal infiltrates and other complications
were excellent with both lens types. The Registry also shows that, though Daily Disposable lenses are usually
recommended for added convenience for the patient, one strategy to overcome discomfort is moving to Daily
Disposable lenses.

Astigmatism & Hydrogels - Professor Phil Morgan
Although about 45% of all people in need of a vision correction are astigmatic in at least one eye, in many
markets, the number of toric lenses prescribed is much lower than this. In this lecture we will provide insights
and tips for fitting lenses for astigmatism. Another question to be addressed is the position of hydrogels in
the current contact lens market. Since the introduction of silicone hydrogels, more patients have been refitted
with these new materials. Despite this, still many patients drop out of the contact lens catagory. Do hydrogels
still have a place in the current market?
