Research
projects
• Building on modal systems
• Providing coordination across modes thanks to :
o Technical tools: standards (common language across logistics
stakeholders for booking transport, following goods during the trip,
and reporting to authorities)
o Governance framework: data protection, legal tools

What do we expect from the call ?
Support e-Freight policy : using existing /
e-Freight standards to develop concrete tools
making freight transport more efficient :
• Information systems:
 multimodal freight transport planners, booking tools,
 tracing tools (incl. integration with traffic management
systems),
 tools for more cooperation between logistics stakeholders
• IT infrastructures supporting information
exchange; data protection
Transport
What do we expect from the call ?
For coherent and harmonised e-Freight
developments in Europe :
• Don't reinvent the wheel !
• Follow status of discussions in e-Freight working
groups
• Take measures to align with the proposed data models
as much as possible.
