DAVID PEZARO - An explanation of your HBDI® Profile.
Date : 24 09 14 - Page 1/2
Your HBDI® Profile Sheet provides you with a visual plot of your thinking style preferences.
The Data Summary Sheet gives a breakdown of what quadrant many of the questions fall into.
This explanation page will describe each of the quadrants in descending order of your preference :
C>D>A>B
The thinking style quadrant you most prefer, based upon your responses to the HBDI® Survey, is the C Quadrant, with
a value of 86.
Descriptors in this thinking style which you selected are Musical, Talker and Intuitive. These descriptors represent a
general overview of your mental preferences in day-to-day life.
Work Elements you strongly relate to in this quadrant include Teaching and Writing. These Elements reflect your mental
preferences at work. Work preferences may align completely with general preferences, or they may stem from
situations unique to one's working environment.
In the forced-choice, Adjective Pairs section of the Survey, 21% of your responses registered in the C Quadrant. For
comparison purposes, your C Quadrant Profile Score represents 29% of your total Profile.
By only a slight margin, your next most preferred is the D Quadrant, with 81 points. In this thinking style, you selected
Synthesiser and Intuitive as descriptive of you. Work Elements you identified as ones you do well include
Conceptualising, Creative and Innovating. In Adjective Pairs 38% of your responses registered in the D Quadrant,
compared to 27% of your overall Profile.
Your next most preferred is the A Quadrant, with 71 points. In this quadrant you selected Analytical, Rational and
Factual, with Critical representing your 'Key Descriptor' - the one most descriptive of you. Work Elements you identified
as ones you do well include Problem solving. 17% of your Adjective Pairs responses fell in the A Quadrant, compared
to 24% of your Profile.
Your least preferred quadrant, based upon your Survey responses, is the B Quadrant, with a value of 60. In this
quadrant you selected Speaker as characteristic of you. 25% of your Adjective Pairs responses fell in the B Quadrant,
compared to 20% of your Profile.
The Adjective Pairs result tells us something about how we react when under pressure. This may or may not be
consistent with our general behaviour. The distribution of your responses to these questions into the A, B, C and D
Quadrants was 4 - 6 - 5 - 9 respectively. This distribution, while not perfectly aligned with your profile, is not radically
out of alignment either. This suggests that there may be some shifts in your thinking style when under pressure,
perhaps with a less-preferred quadrant becoming more dominant or a generally preferred one receding into the
background.

DAVID PEZARO - An explanation of your HBDI® Profile.
Date : 24 09 14 - Page 2/2
The Preference Code is a categorization of profiles. It can be helpful in identifying generally similar Profile
configurations.
Your profile is triple dominant.
Triple dominant profile represents 34 percent of the database. Within that total, 2111, 1121, and 1112 are the most
frequent, representing 81% of the above. This group has access to a certain mental flexibility that comes from the
multi-dominant nature of their mental process. This allows the individuals to move among their three dominant modes
somewhat seamlessly, looking at all of the perspectives before making a decision. Such multiple preference also
facilitates interaction with others. Due to the triple nature of their data, they are more likely to share a least one
preference with those with whom they interact. On the other hand, this, multiplicity of preference can slow down the
decision making process sue to the need to really check out all the bases. Another potential challenge may be the
multitude of options these preferences provide as career decisions or educational choices need to be made. Identifying
the strongest preference among the three comes with time and a willingness to go with a lead quadrant enough to be
able to effectively evaluate the experience. Often the opportunities that present themselves first are pursued.
Your preference code is 1211 :
This profile is triple dominant, with three preferred quadrants. These primaries occur in Upper Left A, Lower Right C,
and Upper Right D quadrants. This is a multi-dominant profile that would be characterized by well balanced processing
modes of Upper Left A — the analytic, logical, and rational processing; the interpersonal, emotional, and intuitive
thinking modes of Lower Right C, combined with the artistic, creative, and holistic processing modes of the Upper Right
D quadrant. The Lower Left B secondary quadrant would be functional, yet clearly of less preference in terms of
organizing, control, structure and conservative thinking styles. This profile is also double dominant in the cerebral
modes, both left and right. This individual would be more experimental than safe-keeping and more emotional than
controlled.
Occupations would involve those with less administrative detail and more attention to broad concepts, strategic
planning as compared to operational planning, and those occupations tending towards a more ‘generalized’ nature.
Positions involving technical innovation and future planning fit this profile along with human resource and development
professions.
Most comfortable communication approaches may include :
A good debate - Technical accuracy - Providing an overview - Idea chunks - Involving others - Personal touch/Sensitive
to others.
The most natural problem solving strategies would include :
Visualization - Free-flow brainstorming - Intuition - Analysis - Building on ideas of other team members - Defining the
problem.
To take a decision, a person with this profile may ask :
Do I see all the hidden possibilities? Do I have all the facts? How will others be affected?
