RACEREPORT EMX250 MATTERLY BASSIN
Het Creymert Racingteam trok voor de 3de ronde in het Europese kampioenschap
naar het Engelse Materly Basin. Het team kwam er aan de start met Brent en
Ingvi. Het beloofde moeilijke omstandigheden te worden door het slechte weer
op vrijdag.
Op zaterdag wist Brent een 1ste tijd neer te zetten in groep a. Zo wist hij
zich te verzekeren voor een goede startplek voor manche 1. Ingvi had minder
geluk in zijn groep en kon zich niet plaatsen. Hij kwam 0.2 seconden te
kort en werd zo 2de reserve.
Tijdens nam de pauze regende het nog even heel hard en zo werd het parkoer
nog wat lastiger voor de manche. Brent een goede start en kon rond de 5de
plek de eerste bocht indraaien. Hij kon snel opschuiven naar de 3de plek om
dan met de leider in het kampioenschap Clarke in duel te gaan. Het werd een
duel om vingers van af te likken voor het Engelse publiek. 3 ronden lang
deden ze haasje over tot Brent het genoeg vond en de 2de plek overnam.
Clarke kon niet meer reageren en zo wist Brent op zaterdag op een 2de plek
te eindigen achter thuisrijder Ben Watson
.
Op zondag wist Brent een 2de tijd neer te zetten in de vrije trainingen.
Ingvi kwam in geen van beide manches aan de start. In de eerste bocht van de
2de manche zag het er minder goed uit voor Brent hij kon rond een 15de plek
de eerste bocht indraaien maar hij wist al heel snel en heel vlot wat
plekken goed te maken. Na ongeveer tien minuten wedstrijd reed Brent op een
4de plek achter Vandervlist maar ook dat duurde niet lang voor hij de
positie wist over te nemen. Leider Jaulin had al een flinke voorsprong
opgebouwd op Bogers en de daarop volgende Brent. Brent zou uiteindelijk nog
mooi 2de weten te eindigen en zo in het algemene klassement op de eerste
plek stranden. Dit was voor het team de eerste overwinning van het jaar en
tevens voor Brent de eerste uit zijn loopbaan in de Europese klasse. Met
deze overwinning schuift Brent in de stand op van plek 9 naar plek 3.
Het leek wel het perfecte weekend. In de quali training had
ik de eerste tijd het ging super, dus ik ging met een goed gevoel naar het
hek. Ik nam een goede start en klom stilaan naar de 2de plek. Ik kon het gat
een beetje dichten op de eerste maar die was al te ver weg. De 2de reeks was
ik niet goed weg rond de 12 de plaats maar ik reed een hele slimme eerste
ronden ! Het rijden ging echt super en werd ook niet moe. Helemaal op het
einde haalde ik de 2de nog in en finishte op die plaats met een overwinning
in totaal !! Het heeft me heel wat vertrouwen gegeven want ik heb toch wel
even liggen sukkelen met men long. Ik wil alle mensen bedanken achter me
staan en steunen, ook men vriendin !!
Reactie Ingvi:
Het weekend was wel ok, ik ben natuurlijk teleurgesteld dat
ik mij niet kon plaatsen voor de manches. Maar langs de andere kant ben ik
wel blij dat het weer de goede kant opgaat en dat het beter was dan Spanje.
Ik voelde me goed op de moto en op het knappe circuit. Op naar de volgende!
De volgende ronde voor de Europese 250 klasse vind plaats in het Italiaanse
Maggiora op 14 en 15 juni. Aanstande donderdag zal het team van start gaan
in het ONK te Rhenen.
The Creymert Racing team drew for the third round in the European
Championship to the English Materly Basin. The team came to the start with
Brent and Ingvi. It promised to be difficult conditions due to bad weather
on Friday. On Saturday knew Brent a 1st time to put down in group a. So he
managed to secure for a good starting place for round 1. Ingvi had less luck
in his group and could not qualifeded. He came to 0.2 seconds short and
became so 2nd reserve.
It rained a little during the break took very hard and as it became more
difficult for the manche yet. Brent had a good start and could turn the
first corner around the 5th place. He could quickly advance to the 3rd place
to the Championship leader Clarke in the duel. It was a beautiful game for
the English public 's. 3 laps long did they leapfrog over to Brent enough
was made and the 2nd place took over. Clarke could stop responding and so
knew Brent on Saturday on a 2nd place finish behind home rider Ben Watson.
On Sunday knew Brent a 2nd time to put down in the free practice sessions.
Neither manches Ingvi came in at the start. In the first corner of the 2nd
manche it looked less good for Brent he could turn around a 15th place the
first corner but he knew very quickly and very smoothly what places make up
for it. After about ten minutes race Brent on a 4th place behind Van der
Vlist as well that didn't last long for he knew to take over the position.
Jaulin leader had already built up a hefty lead on Baker and subsequent
Brent. Brent would eventually managed to finish 2nd and thus still beautiful
in the overall standings on the first place. This was for the team the first
victory of the year and also for Brent the first of his career in the
European class. With this victory slide of Brent in the booth at place 9 to
place 3.
Brent reaction:
it has to be the perfect weekend. In quali training I had
the first time it went super, so I went with a good feeling towards the
fence. I took a good start and gradually climbed to the second place. I
could close the gap a bit on the first but that was too far away. The 2nd
set I was not good way around the 12 the place but I drove a very smart
early round! The drive went really super and was not tired. At the very end
I downloaded the 2nd still in and finished on that place with a victory in
total!! It has given me a lot of confidence because I have struggling with
one lung. I want to thank all the people behind me and my girlfriend!
Reaction Ingvi: the weekend was pretty ok, of course I am disappointed that
I could not qualify for the races. But on the other hand, I am pleased,
though, that the weather is going in the right direction and that it was
better than Spain. I felt good on the moto and on the handsome circuit. On
to the next one!
The next round for the European 250 class take place on 14 and 15 June in
the Italian Maggiora. Next Thursday, the team will start in the ONK to Rhene
