Umicore Materials Technology Award 2015* Convinced of the overall importance of Research & Development for future growth and prosperity, Umicore has established the “Umicore Materials Technoloy Awards”. With these awards, Umicore wants to recognize original scientific contributions in the following fields: • Fine Particle technology/applications • Sustainable technology for metal containing compounds • Sustainable energy related topics • Materials for (heterogeneous and homogeneous) catalysis • Economic and societal issues around metal containing compounds Mehtap Özaslan, winner Umicore PhD award 2014 In 2015 Umicore will grant a “Umicore Materials Technology Award” - amounting to 10,000 euro - for a PhD-thesis defended between October 1st, 2012 and September 30th, 2014 at a university in the European Economic Area + Switzerland. In addition to this, Umicore will also grant 4 awards “MSc-theses” amounting to 2,500 euro for a MSc obtained at a Belgian University. Deadline for applications is October 1st, 2014. A partnership has been established with the “Fond de la Recherche Scientifique – FNRS” and the “Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - FWO” to carry out the selection procedures.
