Oproep voor workshop voorstellen

Op donderdag 11 juni en vrijdag 12 juni 2015 organiseren de Nederlandse Kring voor
Wetenschap der Politiek (NKWP) en de Vereniging voor Politieke Wetenschappen (VPW)
voor de 14de maal gezamenlijk het Politicologenetmaal. Na een succesvolle organisatie in
2014 wordt het Etmaal in 2015 nog eens georganiseerd door de afdeling Politieke
Wetenschap van de Faculteit der Cultuur- en Maatschappijwetenschappen van de
Universiteit Maastricht.
Zoals gebruikelijk start het Etmaal op donderdagmiddag tussen 12 en 13 uur en eindigt het
op vrijdagmiddag na de lunch. Het Etmaal kent een plenaire bijeenkomst, met onder meer
de uitreiking van de bekende prijzen, maar de klemtoon ligt op het werk in de workshop
sessies (twee sessies op donderdag middag en twee sessies op vrijdagochtend). Voor deze
sessies, met elk ruimte voor 8 tot 12 papers, zijn we op zoek naar sessievoorstellen. We
verwelkomen een ruim scala aan thema’s uit politicologische subdisciplines als empirische
politicologie, politieke communicatie, bestuurskunde, internationale betrekkingen, politieke
economie, ontwikkelingsstudies, politieke sociologie, vergelijkende politicologie, politieke
theorie, en politieke methodologie. Voorstellen kunnen zowel uitgaan van academische
politicologen als van praktijkpoliticologen. De voertaal van panels is in de regel Nederlands,
maar sessievoorzitters kunnen beslissen Engels als voertaal te hanteren. De voertaal dient te
worden aangegeven in het sessie voorstel.
Uw workshop voorstel (met toelichting van maximaal één pagina) wordt
verwacht vóór 9 Januari 2015 op het emailadres van het organiserend comité:

Er is plaats voor maximaal 14 sessies en bij de selectie van de voorstellen gaat de voorkeur
naar sessies die het potentieel hebben voldoende papers aan te trekken. In de praktijk blijkt
dat sessies vooral succesvol zijn indien de sessievoorzitters zelf actief deelnemers rekruteren.
Bij de selectie van voorstellen geeft de organisatie de voorkeur aan voorstellen voor
workshops die worden ingediend door co-voorzitters die geaffilieerd zijn met een Belgische
en Nederlandse universiteit. Co-voorzitters van buiten België en Nederland zijn ook welkom.
Ook zal er rekening mee worden gehouden dat het sessie aanbod een zo ruim mogelijk veld
van de politieke wetenschappen beslaat.

Call for workshop proposals
On Thursday 11 June and Friday 12 June 2015, the ‘Politicologenetmaal’ (‘24-hour Political
Science Conference’) is jointly organized for the 14th time by the Dutch Science Association
(NKWP) and the Association for Political Science (VPW). After a successful organization in
2014, the Conference is organized again in 2015 by the Department of Political Science at
Maastricht University.
Traditionally, the conference starts on Thursday (noon) and ends on Friday (noon). The
workshops occupy four time slots (two on Thursday afternoon, two on Friday morning).
Each session, over the course of the two days, covers 8 to 12 papers and these papers tend
to relate to broad topics such as political behavior, political communication, political
sociology, political economy, public administration, political theory, and political
methodology. Sessions can be proposed by academics but also by practitioners. The
conference language is Dutch, but individual sessions can be held in English, at the
discretion of the session chairs. Please indicate the preferred language for the session in the
session proposal.
Proposals for workshops (maximum one page) should be sent before January 9,
2015 to the organizing committee at [email protected]
There is place for 14 sessions and preference is given to those proposals, which have the
potential of attracting a sufficient number of papers. In the past, the most successful
sessions were those for which the session chairs actively recruited participants. Sessions coorganized by workshop chairs affiliated to Belgian and Dutch universities are preferred. Cochairs from elsewhere are also welcome. The final selection of the panels will secure an as
broad as possible representation of the political science field.
