Inleiding
Mijn eindwerk doe ik in opdracht van het bedrijf EIV bvba. Het
bedrijf is gespecialiseerd in het maken en opstellen van
geautomatiseerde oplossingen. Dit gaat van Engineering tot
bordenbouw, tot industrial automation en prototyping.
Door mijn interesse in automatisering ben ik bij EIV terecht
gekomen. Na een gesprek met Geert Verstraete, managing
director, bood hij mij volgende opdracht aan. Een binnenshuis
opdracht die geschikt kon zijn voor mij.
Het monteren van markeringen voor kabels is een erg tijdrovende klus. Dit is het probleem dat hij mij
voorlegde en waarvoor ik een oplossing ontwierp.
Opdrachtstelling
Probleem
De draden en kabels
worden op bovenstaande
wijze gemarkeerd.
Bovenaan zijn de hulzen
waarin de kabellabels
worden gestoken.
De onderste afbeelding
toont de labels zoals ze uit
de printer komen.
De gekartelde zijde wordt
losgebroken en de labels
worden met de hand in de
hulzen geschoven.
Daarna wordt de label met huls
afgebroken van de andere zijde.
Deze manier van markeren is sterk en betrouwbaar. Maar kost veel tijd om samen te stellen en te
monteren. De kern van mijn opdracht houdt in om dit tijdrovend proces te elimineren of in te korten.
Om de handeling en het probleem te ervaren heb ik een 50 tal van deze vlaggen in de hulzen
gestoken. Op deze manier heb ik zelf de problemen ondervonden en de manier van werken leren
kennen.
Doelpubliek
Het toestel is bedoeld voor gebruik binnen het bedrijf. De werknemers gaan gebruik maken van het
toestel.

Ontwerp proces
Geautomatiseerde oplossing
Eisen en wensen
Na het bestuderen van het probleem en een gesprek met geert zijn volgende eisen en wensen
opgesteld.
Eisen:







Automatische aanvoer van de hulzen
Labels met hulzen komen uit de machine waarbij ze aan de rechterzijde nog steeds aan het
lint zijn verbonden
Minimum snelheid van 2 hulzen per minuut.
Gebruiken in de werkplaats.
Zo klein mogelijk toestel (realistisch mogelijk).
Veilige werking volgens de nodige normen.
Eenvoudig open te maken en bij te stellen indien er fouten optreden.
Wensen:




Automatisch sorteren en positioneren van de hulzen.
Volledige elektrische aandrijving van het toestel.
Verplaatsbaar.
Zo weinig mogelijk bewegingen. Hoe minder bewegingen hoe minder er kapot kan gaan.
Aanpak
Bij de aanvang van de opdracht is de
oplossing gezocht bij het
automatiseren van de handeling.
Dit houdt in dat de hulzen automatisch
gesorteerd en gepositioneerd worden.
Het vlaglint wordt automatisch
aangevoerd en bijgeknipt.
De hulzen worden automatisch over de
vlaggen geschoven.
En het eindresultaat komt als een lint
met vlaggen in hun hulzen uit het
toestel.

Bij de start aan deze opdracht kijken we naar de bestaande technieken in
de industrie. Bepaalde technieken die in andere industrieën worden
gebruikt kunnen mits aanpassing gebruikt worden in mijn opdracht.
Het probleem wordt in verschillende
deelproblemen opgesplitst en voor
ieder probleem wordt afzonderlijk
een oplossing gezocht.
Uiteindelijk wordt duidelijk dat de keuze om de geautomatiseerde richting uit te gaan geen goede is.
Het is erg duur. De nodige nauwkeurigheid zal waarschijnlijk niet haalbaar zijn. Waardoor er nog
steeds iemand, tijdens de werking, de machine moet bemannen. Wat uiteindelijk amper een
tijdswinst zal geven.
Dus na overleg wordt er een nieuwe richting uit gegaan.

Meerdere tegelijkertijd
In plaats van 1 huls volledig automatisch over 1 vlag te schuiven. Benaderen wordt het probleem op
een andere manier.
We gaan tijd winnen door meerdere hulzen in 1 beweging over meerdere vlaggen te schuiven.

Huls profiel bepalen
Om de hulzen op een betrouwbare en maatvaste manier op te spannen ontwerpen we hiervoor het
geschikte profiel.
Om het profiel te bepalen zijn volgende profielen ontworpen en getest.

Profiel V5.0
Na het testen gaf profiel V5.0 de gewenste insluiting van de huls. Daarom is er verder gewerkt op dit
profiel.

Bij het verder maken van profiel V5.0 hebben we de hoek van de schuine wanden vastgelegd op 45°.
Deze hoek werkt uitstekend om te hulzen in te schuiven. En voor het maken van het profiel kwam dit
ook goed uit.
De meest geschikte afmetingen zijn bepaald door 2 van de
parameters te variëren.
Eerst zijn alle variaties van A gemaakt. Daaruit is het beste
profiel gekozen.
Met die waarde van A zijn dan de volgende variaties met B
gemaakt.
En nadat alle variaties van B waren gemaakt werden de
profielen opnieuw getest.

Als resultaat bekomen we dat de Het profiel V5.10.3 het ideale profiel is. Als de hulzen hierin
geklemd worden is er geen speling van de hulzen in het profiel. En schuiven de labels er zonder
noemenswaardige weerstand in.

Ondersteuning van de vlaggen
De vlaggen zijn gevoelig aan vervorming bij het hanteren. Deze vervorming zorgt ervoor dat de
vlaggen niet goed in de hulzen schuiven. Met als gevolg dat ze afbreken of knikken. De vervorming
valt moeilijk te voorkomen dus ontwerpen we een ondersteuning die er voor zorgt dat ondanks
vervorming de vlaggen nog steeds goed in de hulzen schuiven.
Voor de ondersteuning van de vlaggen zijn veel schetsen en mogelijkheden bekeken. Rekening
houdend met complexheid en betrouwbaarheid zijn volgende 2 concepten getest.
Het eerste concept maakt gebruik van een vlak waartegen de labels worden gedrukt. Doordat ze over
dit vlak schuiven zijn ze steeds uitgelijnd ten opzichte van de hulzen.

Het tweede concept houdt de labels tussen 2 steunribben. Bij het inschuiven van de labels schuiven
deze in. De ribben houden de labels op de correcte hoogte.
Het 2e concept wordt gebruikt in het eindmodel.
Dit concept biedt ondersteuning aan zowel de boven- en onderzijde van de labels.
De opbouw en werking is eenvoudig. Dit komt ten goed van de complexiteit van het eindmodel.

Ontwerpen samen brengen
De ontworpen oplossingen, het ideale profiel en label
ondersteuning, worden samen gebracht in een spuugmaquette om
de werking na te gaan en indien nodig bij te sturen.
Testen met het prototype toont aan dat het principe werkt. Maar de
uitval, ±15%, is veel te groot.
Dit wordt veroorzaakt door de grote spelingen van het prototype.
Om dit op te lossen wordt het eindmodel ontworpen met hoge
nauwkeurigheid als belangrijkste eis.
Eindmodel
De spuugmaquette toont aan dat het principe werkt maar de nauwkeurigheid is nog niet groot
genoeg.
In het eindontwerp worden alle onderdelen ontworpen met een hoge nauwkeurigheid als basis eis.
Dankzij de nauwkeurigheid van het eindmodel zal de betrouwbaarheid van het principe waarheid
worden.

Toestel
Door tijdgebrek is het eindmodel niet uitgevoerd.
Maar alles is zo goed als mogelijk voorbereid en opgezocht. Indien het eindmodel gemaakt wordt
kan dit zonder veel moeite.

Opbouw
Het toestel bestaat uit 3 delen.
De basis, de labelhouder en de hulzenhouder.
De basis is opgebouwd uit de bodem plaat
waarop de het hendel mechanisme, de rail en de
vlaggen houder worden gemonteerd.
De hulzenhouder klemt en positioneert de
hulzen. Hij is verbonden met het hendel
mechanisme en de geleidingsrail waardoor hij
heen en weer beweegt.
De labelhouder dient om de labels te klemmen.
De ondersteuning van de labels is ook deel van
de labelhouder.

Werkingsprincipe
De complete werking van het toestel kan in 3 delen opgesplitst worden.
Het inklemmen, dat de hulzen en labels goed uitlijnt en ze steeds op dezelfde manier opspant.
De labelondersteuning, dat de labels ondersteunt en uitlijnt.
De lineaire beweging die het inschuiven van de vlaggen mogelijk maakt.
Inklemming
De inklemming van de labels en de hulzen gebeurt door bovenstaande profielen. De u zijn ontworpen
zodat de hulzen en de labels er precies in passen.
Het rechte vlak aan de achterzijde drukt tegen de labels waardoor het lint recht wordt uitgelijnd.
Dit is nodig omdat het lint uit zichzelf krom trekt.
Labelondersteuning
De ondersteuning dient om de labels te
ondersteunen en te geleiden in de hulzen.
Bij het vastnemen en plaatsen van de labels
kunnen deze verbuigen en niet in de hulzen
schuiven.
De ondersteuning lost dit op door de labels
tussen 2 aluminium lippen te geleiden.

Kosten baten analyse
De totale productiekost wordt geschat op 1015.31 euro.
De klant wil het toestel terug verdienen op 10 000 labels.
Een technieker van EIV doet er gemiddeld 14.4 seconden over om 1 label in 1 huls te steken.
De kostprijs voor een uur werk van een technieker is 35 euro. Dit is 0.00972 Euro/sec.
Met het toestel worden 10 labels in hulzen geschoven in 73.6 seconden. Dat wil zeggen dat 1 label in
1 huls wordt gestoken in 7.36 seconden.
Met bovenstaande gegevens wordt de kosten baten analyse uitgevoerd.
Tijdswinst:
14.4sec/huls – 7.36sec/huls = 7.04 sec/huls
Geldwinst:
7.04sec/huls * 0.00972 Euro/sec = 0.0684 Euro/huls
Return on investment: 1015.31 Euro / 0.0684 Euro/huls = 14843.71 hulzen
Het toestel betaald zich terug na ± 15000 hulzen. 5000 hulzen meer dan wat de klant vraagt.
Huidig toestel
Het huidige toestel toont dat het principe om de labels in de hulzen te steken werkt.
De betrouwbaarheid van het prototype is nog te laag. Maar dit wordt aangepakt door de hoge
nauwkeurigheid van het ontworpen eindmodel.
Dit eindmodel is niet perfect. Als engineer student is er naar de mechanische en functionele
uitwerking gekeken.
Het toestel is niet ontworpen om ‘mooi’ of ‘sierlijk’ te zijn. De functie primeert.
Op het vlak van ergonomie en handelingen is er ruimte voor verbeteringen.

Toekomst
De kabellabel invoeger biedt een goede basis om op verder te werken.
In het begin van het ontwerpproces is er sprake geweest van een geautomatiseerd toestel. Mits de
nodige aanpassingen is dat mogelijk met dit toestel.
In dit ontwerp worden de hulzenhouders door de gebruiker gevuld. In de toekomst kunnen deze
hulzenhouders op voorhand gevuld kunnen worden. Dit kan gebeuren door de producent of een
derde bedrijf.

KABELLABEL INVOEGER
De kabellabel invoeger is ontworpen om tijdrovende handeling uit te voeren.
Momenteel worden kunststof labels één voor één in doorzichtige kunststof hulzen gestoken.
Iedere bediening van het toestel voert dezelfde handeling uit met 10 labels en hulzen tegelijk.
Op deze manier wordt een tijdswinst en dus een lagere kost bekomen.
De kern van het toestel ligt hem bij het profiel dat speciaal ontworpen is voor de hulzen.
Dankzij dit profiel worden de hulzen steeds op dezelfde wijze opgespannen.
Wat een zeer maatnauwkeurig resultaat geeft die aan de basis ligt van de werking van het toestel.
De bediening gebeurt nog steeds handmatig. Waardoor het toestel zowel op verplaatsing als in de
werkplaats gebruikt kan worden.
