Maggon, the bad-tempered dragon
1. Once there was a dragon, a bad-tempered dragon,
Maggon the Dragon was his name.
Lived inside a cavern on top of a mountain;
People could see his smoke and flames.

Maggon the Dragon, the bad-tempered dragon,
Liked eating cows and bulls and sheep.
And all through the daytime he had such a gay time,
but when nighttime came, couldn't sleep.
2. Spiky back and long tail, a body of green scales,
Maggon had such an appetite.
And when he felt hungry he roared down the valley,
swallowed the cattle with one bite.
