Willem Jan graduated from the Garden & Landscape University
Larenstein, Velp in 1999. Williem has extensive experience
leading diverse complex landscape and urban planning projects
from rural landscapes to dense urban situations. Besides his
professional expertise in area development, aesthetic control
and project realisation he is an exceptional coordinator for
complex planning processes with multiple principals and many
parties involved, creating added value for all.
Willem Jan has worked on a variety of urban planning and
landscape projects from master plans to realisation - always
integrating landscape and built environment. He specialises
in master planning and public space design in complex urban
situations - reconciling technical and complicated procedural
situations into a clear and strong design.
Prior to joining Mecanoo, Willem Jan worked as design
architect/project leader at leading Dutch landscape architecture
office DS Landscape Architects.
