gezelligheid! Tijdens de Eurekaweek kun je ons al een beetje leren
kennen. Maak maandag kennis met ons op de campus tijdens een
inspirerend minicollege en doe mee aan een leuke quiz. Kom woensdag zeker ook naar de
Eurekaweekparty en maak kennis met onze andere leden en onze gezellige stamkroeg, Proeflokaal
Reijngoud. Mis het niet, want wij hebben een welkomstdrankje voor je klaar staan!
Onze leden zijn vrij om deel te nemen aan al onze activiteiten, maar het is niet verplicht! Het is wel
een leuke manier om mensen te leren kennen met dezelfde interesses. Dit maakt je studietijd een
stuk gezelliger! Naast het bijwonen van activiteiten, kun je zelf ook activiteiten gaan organiseren.
Wanneer je besluit om bij een commissie te gaan, kun je veel uiteenlopende evenementen
organiseren samen met andere leden. Je kunt veel ervaring opdoen in organiseren, samenwerken
en je kunt je netwerk vergroten. Commissiewerk is niet alleen leuk, het staat ook nog goed op je
CV. Het kost tevens niet erg veel tijd. Je vergadert ongeveer eens in de twee weken en voert
daarnaast nog een aantal taken uit. Als je interesse hebt, vul het sollicitatieformulier in voor een
commissie. Hierop staan ook de beschrijvingen van de verschillende commissies.
Leden van ACE krijgen bovendien 10% korting op hun studieboeken. De boekverkoop voor het
eerste blok zal openen op 4 augustus en sluiten aan het einde van het eerste blok. Ga naar
www.ifaace.nl, klik op het kopje ‘boekverkoop’ en daar zul je de webshop vinden. Klik op jouw
studie en daar zul je de vakken met de bijbehorende boeken van jouw studiejaar vinden. Bestelde
boeken worden vervolgens bij je thuisbezorgd! Voor vragen over de boekverkoop, kun je mailen
naar [email protected].
Als laatste willen we jullie graag uitnodigen om mee te gaan met het eerstejaarsweekend! Dit is
een goed moment om zowel de vereniging als al je studiegenoten te leren kennen aan het begin
van het jaar. Let op, dit is GEEN ontgroeningsweekend, maar een weekend vol leuke activiteiten en
gezelligheid! Dit jaar reizen we af naar het pittoreske Putten. Hier zullen wij verblijven van vrijdag
12 tot en met zondag 14 september 2014. Het weekend is na je eerste collegeweek, dus dan heb je
het nog niet erg druk met studeren! Het inschrijfformulier zit ook bij dit informatiepakket. Twijfel
dus niet en schrijf je nu in!

Appendix: Committees 2014-2015
Event Committees (IBCoM, Cultural Studies and History)
There are three event committees, one for each study. These committees are focused on bringing people together
with common interest in culture, history or media & communication. The activities cover a variety of fields and they
want to bring people closer to study-related events, they might not perceive as interesting at the first glance.
Career Committee
This committee brings students and companies closer together. It organizes the Career Days >, an event which was
successfully hosted for the first time last year. The Career Days are organized to inspire companies and students alike to
think about their competencies and core talents. Furthermore, students get the opportunity to orientate themselves on
the job market. The event includes company presentations, case studies, trainings, workshops, lunches, networking
drinks and in-house visits. Finally, the committee will organize three other in-house visits during the academic year.
Freshmen Committee
The Freshmen committee organizes great activities, where freshmen can get to know each other, but also people from
other studies. The freshmen weekend is a big task of this committee. A new study is a new start and there is no better
way than to start it with us!
Party Committee
It is all in the name. This committee organizes great PARTIES! Use your imagination for the most original themes and
coolest locations.
Erasmus EXPO Committee
This committee organizes the Erasmus EXPO every year. This is one of the biggest events of ACE >. Join this committee if
you want to know what it feels like to set up an exhibition! Last year we started to collaborate with other artistic parties
outside the campus to attract a more diverse public. However the content of the exhibition is completely open and up to
you. Do you want to be creative and can you think out of the box? In this committee you can put your theoretical
knowledge into practice.
ROest committee
This committee is responsible for publishing four ROest magazine issues in a year. Join this committee if you are an
inspired writer or if you just want to try out how being a journalist feels like. No matter your interests, being part of this
committee will open your way to the media world. You will be a part of the editorial team, writing articles, reviews and
opinion pieces both for print edition as well as for our brand you online edition. Join the ROest committee, to be part of
the team that changed the faculty magazine and expand your knowledge of how behind the scenes journalist world
looks like!
Short Trip Committee
Each year the Short Trip Committee organizes a trip of 3 or 4 days abroad. This trip usually takes place somewhere in
Europe. The previous three years we visited Berlin, Copenhagen and Madrid, for example. The trip will take place in the
first weekend of February. As a member of this committee you will organize all the activities for the trip and you will be a
tour guide during the trip.
Long Trip Committee
Each year the Long Trip Committee organizes a trip of 10 days to a special destination. The locations are different and
not that well known. The last couple of years, we went for instance to Estonia& Finland and Ukraine. The long trip usually
takes place in July after the last exams. As a committee member you will have to organize a lot of study-related activities
for all participating studies. Of course, there is also room for social activities. As a member you will be a tour guide during
the trip.
