• For large organization such
as Tôdaiji, records of each
internal division are
generated & stored
• Several divisions--with
changes over time-participated in Ôbe estate
management.
• Examining records from
each division can concretely
illuminate the history of
Ôbe estate’s management
• 東大寺のような比較的大き
な組織では,内部組織毎に
資料が作成・保管される.
• 大部荘を経営したのは複
数内部組織であった.そして
経営主体は変遷があった.
• 内部組織毎の資料という関
心を払うことで,大部荘経営

rights; name fields (Tsunekiyo, Iô,
Tôshichi)

many land registers; took charge of
cultivation “on the ground,”

recorded; the ledger is signed
by “Jôken” and “the deputy

の連署.
• It seems highly likely that at
the time, Tôdaiji & Tônan’in
had divided up the
overlordship.
