A new football generation has arrived to the FIFA’s World Cup in New
Zealand full of dreams and hopes, to showcase the best of a country
inspired in football as a talent and strength engine of the Colombian youth.
The successful and promising present of our football it’s represented in
these 21 young men, who arrive to the orbital meeting as ambassadors of
41 million Colombians, who live each moment of the sport with passion
and enthusiasm, forged through these modern heroes, and at the same
time inspiring at the younger ones towards the glory.
This is the U 20 Colombia Team, a family that fills us with pride and
reasons to keep growing as a country. A new group that is inviting the
world through football to follow their participation in Oceania, in order to
elevate the virtues of a land full of opportunities, friendly people and role
models for society.

Colombia, land of opportunities
Our country, located in the heart of the American continent,
just north of the southern hemisphere, is characterized by its
colorful regions, the richness of nature, the kindness of the
biodiversity of fauna and flora species, as well as the mixture
of the mestizo, indigenous, black and white population,
which is recognized worldwide because of their happiness,
sympathy and informality.
A nation full of opportunities, whose economy has held
a steady growth, leader in Latin America for its industrial
variety and development, today it forges its future by the
hand of the world’s greatest powers that see in the country’s
qualities valuable options for the humanity.
A cozy territory, set by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific
Ocean, bathed by countless rivers that create life to tenths
of greenish tones among mountains, valleys, plains and
savannahs, give answer about a corner in the world where
the variety and richness of its culture come together to say
Colombia is a land of opportunities.

NEW ZEALAND
On our Way to New Zealand
The participation share in the FIFA U 20 World Cup New
Zealand 2015, was achieved by the Colombia Team thanks
to the regional subtitle obtained in Uruguay during the
startup of 2015.
It was the XXVII South American Championship U 20
Youth of America (Juventud de América) held from January
14th to February 7th, where the team conducted by the
Technical Staff led by Professor Carlos Restrepo, got into
the first round within Group B, next to Brazil, Uruguay, Chile
and Venezuela, adding 6 points in four matches.
Later in the decisive phase it played five matches against
Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru and Paraguay, adding 9
points, resulting from two victories and three draws which
them to their ninth classification in the history of a FIFA’s U
20 World Cup.

Team
The U 20 Colombia Team trainer, 54 years old and several achievements leading the national team, is the responsible of guiding a new orbital commitment
in the FIFA’s U 20 World Cup New Zealand 2015.
With recent accomplishments like the South American title in 2013 and being
runner-up in 2015, he has been shaping the present and the future of the Colombian football from the tricolor team with a seal of elegance and talent that the
team from the coffee land always had.
Within his career he was the Technical Director of professional teams like
Once Caldas, Junior, Medellin, Tolima, Quindio and Pasto in Colombia, as well

as the Tachira in Venezuela, Municipal, Brujas, Alajuelense League, Liberia and
Puntarenas in Costa Rica. He was also leading the Club Olimpia of the National
League in Honduras.
As Proffesssor Restrepo greatest achievements he attained tournament titles
in Colombia with Junior in 1995, Costa Rica with Perez Celedon in 2004 and
Honduras with Olimpia in 2010. At a national teams level he won the title in the
FIFA’s U 20 South American in 2013, event that took place in Argentina.
Having achieved second place in the South American in Uruguay in 2015,
represents the third time that Carlos “Piscis” Restrepo classifies Colombia for a
FIFA U 20 World Cup, after doing it in 1993 and 2013.
A successful profile for a mas who is dedicated, diligent, charismatic, football
players’ shaper, on which the face of the new generations of the Colombian
football is building up.
