FLAMINGO ROAD is a major east-to-west arterial street that connects extensive existing and planned commercial and residential development
directly to the heart of the Resort Corridor and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) campus. The combination of large residential
populations at the ends of Flamingo Road and concentrated employment at the center generates substantial commuter traffic on Flamingo
Road. The existing transit line on the corridor has more than 12,000 passenger boardings daily, making it the most used residential route in the
RTC's transit system. In addition, Flamingo Road includes connections to all major north-south transportation and transit corridors for the 2
million residents of the Las Vegas valley.
TRANSIT ROUTE COMPONENTS
• 14-mile transit corridor improvements from Grand Canyon Drive to Jimmy Durante Boulevard
• Connection to 15 transit routes, including 11 residential, 3 express routes (Strip & Downtown Express, Centennial Express, Boulder Highway
Express) and the Deuce on the Strip
• Dedicated bus/bike lanes
• Bus will operate in regular traffic lanes from Grand Canyon Drive to Rainbow Boulevard, from Arville Street to Koval Lane and from Boulder
Highway to Jimmy Durante Boulevard
CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS
• Resurface and restripe approximately 7 miles of Flamingo Road
• Installation of more than 100 new transit shelters
• Intersection and traffic signal upgrades
• Installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies to improve traffic flow
• Medians will include non-irrigated decorative landscaping
• Left turns will be restricted from driveways and un-signalized cross streets
• Improved pedestrian crosswalks

• Design: July 2013 - March 2015
• Construction:
• Phase 1 Pre-Construction: June 2014 - March 2015
(including utility coordination, finalization of design, securing permits from NDOT & Clark County)
• Phase 2 Construction: March 2015 - October 2016

FLAMINGO ROAD es una calle arteria importante que corre de oeste a este y conecta las áreas de gran desarrollo comercial y residencial actual y
proyectada directamente al centro de la actividad en el Corredor Turístico y la Universidad de Nevada en Las Vegas. La combinación de grandes
poblaciones residenciales en los extremos del corredor con los empleos en el centro del corredor causa la congestión de tráfico sobre Flamingo
Road. La línea de transporte público existente en el corredor provee servicio a más de 12,000 pasajeros al día, por lo que es la ruta de autobús
más frecuentada en el sistema de transporte de RTC. Además, Flamingo Road tiene conexiones a los corredores principales de transporte
público de norte a sur, creando enlaces e interconexión a 2 millones de residentes del valle de Las Vegas.
COMPONENTES DE LAS RUTAS DE TRANSPORTE
• 14 millas de mejoramiento al corredor de transporte público de Grand Canyon Drive a Jimmy Durante Boulevard
• Conexión a 15 rutas de transporte público, incluyendo 11 rutas residenciales, 3 rutas express (Strip y Downtown Express,
Centennial Express, Boulder Highway Express) y el Deuce en el Strip
• Carriles reservados para bicicletas /autobús
• Autobús operará en los carriles de tráfico de Grand Canyon Drive a Rainbow Boulevard, de Arville Street hasta Koval
Lane y desde Boulder Highway a Jimmy Durante Boulevard
COMPONENTES DE CONSTRUCCIÓN
• Superposición y redefinir aproximadamente 7 millas en Flamingo Road
• Instalación de aproximadamente 100 nuevas paradas de transporte público
• Actualizaciones a las intersecciones y las señales de tráfico
• Instalación del Sistema Inteligente de Transporte (ITS) para mejorar el tráfico
• La jardinería decorativa en medio de la carretera no necesitara irrigación
• Vueltas a la izquierda será restringido de salidas y calles sin señal
• Mejorar el cruce de los peatones
