ASOA's English name remains unchanged. 協会名称変更について 今般、業務の更なる発展を願い、2006 年 1 月 1 日付けで、協 会名称を「アメリカ州政府在日事務所協議会」から「アメリカ州政府 協会」に変更しました。尚、英語名称「American State Offices Association 」に変更はありません。 About this Directory ASOA began its annual printed Directory in 1992, publicizing key information on the organization and its members through thousands of copies mailed yearly to government organizations, the Japanese business community, and other partners promoting US-Japan economic cooperation. From this year, ASOA offers you a PDF-based downloadable version, making the information available to an unlimited number of readers and with frequent updates of content. But where can Japanese businesses turn to for information on doing business in the U.S. in general? ASOA's InvestUSA initiative helps Japanese businesses understand how to locate or expand their operations in the U.S. In addition to FAQs and links that respond to common questions, InvestUSA houses a Virtual Library of documents that address Japanese investors' main concerns: American employment law, immigration issues, corporate set-up, due diligence, site selection, and more. Documents are written by legal, engineering and other professional experts, and are in the language of the customer: Japanese. However, the doors are open to a wide range of U.S. state and regional representative bodies working in or with Japan, including dedicated trade, tourism, or investment promotion organizations; port authorities; and regional marketing bodies. Through its collective work with major associations and other partners, ASOA provides individual members with unparalleled networking and promotional opportunities in Japan – opportunities simply not accessible by any one organization operating alone. The annual membership fee for Japan-based members is ¥60,000. ASOA also welcomes U.S.-based member organizations that work with Japan but do not have offices in the country, and offers a reduced membership fee to these.
