Smart Cities
Der Botschaftstag bietet den diplomatischen Vertretungen aus der
Region Asien-Pazifik ein Forum zur Darstellung ihrer Länder und von
Marktchancen für deutsche Unternehmen. Die komprimierte Präsentation der Region Asien-Pazifik verschafft Asien-Interessierten
einen schnellen Überblick über das aktuelle Geschehen in dieser
hochspannenden Region.
Weltweit ziehen immer mehr Menschen in Metropolregionen.
Stadtleben hat den Anspruch, hohe Bevölkerungsdichte mit hoher
technologischer Durchdringung und hohem Lebensstandard zu
verbinden. Urbanisierung, Klimafolgen und demographischer
Wandel erfordern intelligente, weitsichtige Lösungen – in Berlin
ebenso wie in den rasant wachsenden Metropolen Asiens. Dabei
stehen Klimaschutz, Ressourcenschonung, Nachhaltigkeit und
Bürgernutzen an erster Stelle. Die Schaffung organisatorischer
Rahmenbedingungen sowie die Vernetzung von Entscheidungsprozessen in den Städten sind Voraussetzung für die Etablierung
smarter Technologien.
In der Wirtschafts- und Technologiekonferenz von Berlin Partner
für Wirtschaft und Technologie werden neue Geschäfts-, Kooperations- und Finanzierungsmodelle für Smart Cities diskutiert, Städte
präsentieren ihre Strategien und Lösungsansätze, Unternehmen
stellen technische Lösungen vor.
Erstmals findet parallel zu den Asien-Pazifik-Wochen Berlin die
Metropolitan Solutions, der internationale Treffpunkt für nachhaltige
Stadtentwicklung, in Berlin statt. Die Messe mit ihren Fachkonferenzen fungiert als Dialogplattform rund um Strategien und Lösungen für
den Aus- und Aufbau urbaner Infrastrukturen.
Auch 2015 wird ein umfangreiches und vielseitiges Partnerprogramm geboten. Berliner Institutionen aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft
und Kultur und die Botschaften beteiligen sich mit themenspezifischen Veranstaltungsangeboten wie Symposien, Vorlesungen,
Ausstellungen, Filmen, Konzerten uvm.
Die Asien-Pazifik-Wochen Berlin 2015 richten den Fokus auf Smart
Cities und thematisieren die urbanen Herausforderungen, die sich
in Berlin wie in den Wachstumsmetropolen Asiens stellen. Experten präsentieren Modelle zur intelligenten, digitalen Vernetzung
und optimalen Steuerung von Städten sowie zukunftsfähige urbane Technologien aus den Bereichen Energie, Mobilität, Ressourcenund Umweltmanagement, Kreislaufwirtschaft sowie digitale
Infrastruktur. Im Fokus des Dialogs mit den asiatischen Partnern
stehen die Interdependenzen von Smart Cities, Green Economy
und nachhaltiger Entwicklung.

Seit 1997 bieten die Asien-Pazifik-Wochen Berlin (APW) ein Forum
für den Austausch über wichtige Themen aus Wirtschaft und Politik,
Forschung und Wissenschaft, Kultur und Gesellschaft. Die AsienPazifik-Wochen Berlin laden zum Dialog mit einer Wirtschaftsregion ein, die höchste Wachstumsraten verzeichnet und die globale
Zukunft maßgeblich mitbestimmt. Wirtschaftliche Verflechtung,
Wissenstransfer und Kulturaustausch spielen für die künftige Entwicklung Asiens und Europas eine zentrale Rolle.

The Embassy Day provides a forum for the diplomatic missions
from the Asia-Pacific region to present their countries and market
opportunities for German companies. This compact presentation of
the Asia-Pacific region gives a quick overview of current events in
this highly exciting region.
Around the globe, more and more people are moving into metropolitan areas. Cities seek to combine high population density with
high technological penetration and a high quality of life. Urbanization and the effects of the climate change and demographic
change all require intelligent, far-sighted solutions – in Berlin as
well as in the rapidly growing cities of Asia. Climate protection,
resource conservation, sustainability and citizen networks are the
top priorities. The creation of organizational framework conditions and the cross-linking of decision-making processes in cities
provide the conditions smart technologies require to thrive.

The Asia-Pacific Weeks Berlin 2015 will focus on smart cities and
in particular, the urban challenges facing Berlin and the highgrowth cities of Asia. Experts will be presenting models for intelligent, digital networking and city management optimization, as
well as urban technologies of the future from the fields of energy,
mobility, resource and environmental management, recycling
management and digital infrastructure. The main focal point of
the dialog with our Asian partners is the interdependence between
smart cities, the green economy and sustainable development.
Since 1997, the Asia-Pacific Weeks Berlin (APW) have provided a
forum for exchange on important themes in the fields of business
and politics, research and science, culture and society. The AsiaPacific Weeks Berlin invite participants to enter into a dialog with a
business region that features high growth rates and is contributing
to the global future. Economic interdependency, knowledge transfer
and cultural exchange play a major role in the future development
of both Asia and Europe.

At the Business and Technology Conference hosted by Berlin Partner
for Business and Technology, new models of business, partnership
and financing for smart cities are discussed. Cities present their
strategies and ideas for infrastructure solutions and companies
demonstrate their technological answers.
For the first time, Metropolitan Solutions, the international meeting
place for sustainable urban development, will be taking place in
Berlin parallel to the APW 2015. With its subject-specific conferences, the trade show functions as a platform exploring strategies and
solutions for the expansion and development of the urban infrastructure.
The comprehensive, versatile Partner Program will be back in 2015,
when Berlin’s business, science and culture institutions and the
embassies will present their own Asia-specific events, e.g. symposia,
lectures, exhibitions, movies, concerts etc.
