Participants will have the opportunity to receive the following certifications upon full participation and successful completion of this program: ASHI CPR Pro ASHI O2 (Oxygen Certification) ASHI First Aid YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant Their volunteer hours do count towards the requirements from most schools and also look great on college applications! Participants will help with a variety of duties within the aquatic department including: greeting members, distributing swim bans, helping with swim lessons and/or swim team, aquatics camp, helping with pool maintenance duties, data entry & special events. Their assistance in the aquatic department is an essential part in our ability to ensure excellence – not only in member experience – but also safety. We take our responsibility to provide a quality program seriously and expect our participants to understand the commitment they are making when registering for this program. If you are interested in being a Jr Guard this summer at your local branch, please return application & payment to your branch's Jr Guard Advisor by May 26th. Applications will be considered in the order that they are received and spots are very limited. We only accept 10 Jr Guards at each branch. Your application will be reviewed and you will be informed of whether we were able to accept you into the program by Fri, May 26th. Once accepted into the program, fee is non-refundable.
