Things become personal for him: his ex-wife asks him to locate her missing husband. While Spandau’s heart is breaking, he does this last thing for her. More books in the series are planned. Manuscript available. Rights sold: UK & US (Severn House), Germany (Carl’s Books) Rights are available in the two previous novels, Loser’s Town and Babylon Nights, which have had great reviews: ‘The novel sparkles… . If the author continues to create such vivid characters, this series will draw a loyal following.’ Booklist ‘Depp creates characters as memorable as some of Elmore Leonard’s…. Loser’s Town wins on every count. It’s cynical, sexy, funny and suspenseful. All good things.’ Daily News (New York) ‘Depp blends its familiar elements with enthusiasm. He demonstrates a wicked behind-the-scenes awareness of Hollywood’s inherent absurdity and utilizes a wealth of old-school venues… Depp also turns the rare trick of creating supporting characters as charismatic as his lead… Sharp-tongued debut that obviously knows the City of Angels well.’ Kirkus ‘Engaging’ Booklist ‘Inspired.’ Publishers Weekly Page 2 of Ki Agency rights list – London Book Fair 2014 Anne Perry New York Times bestselling author 25 million copies of Anne’s books have now been sold worldwide, and she appears regularly in the New York Times bestseller list. Mentioned by The Times as one of the century’s top 100 Masters of Crime, she continues to publish 3 books a year: one each in the “Pitt” and “Monk” series, plus a Christmas novella. None of her books has ever been out of print. Both series are under option for film/TV, and she is developing original TV series as well. “Monk” series 19. BLIND JUSTICE (April 2013) (Previously PAYMENT DUE) Oliver Rathbone is now a judge, and his first case is a clergyman, Taft, who has pressured his congregation into giving more money to charity than they can really afford. It looks as if Taft has stolen the money, too, rather than giving it to charity. Rathbone uses some infamous photographs to force a witness to give evidence against Taft. But when Taft commits suicide, Rathbone is arrested for bending the rules, and Monk and Hester must solve the riddle of Taft’s death to try and rescue their friend. New York Times bestseller “Perry again delivers searing social criticism with well-drawn continuing characters.” Booklist Rights sold: UK (Headline), US (Random House), France (10/18), Germany (Heyne), Italy (Mondadori), Spain (Ediciones B) Page 3 of Ki Agency rights list – London Book Fair 2014 20. BLOOD ON THE WATER (April 2014) Monk is in a boat on the river when he sees a pleasure-boat explode. It’s a huge tragedy – many drown, although Monk and his men rescue as many people as they can. He finds that a bomb had been planted on the boat, and it may be a hate crime against the British; the Suez Canal is being built, and some Egyptians have been killed recently. Since the case is sensitive, Monk is taken off it, and the regular police arrest the wrong man. Somehow Monk must see that justice is done. DEATH ON BLACKHEATH (Autumn 2013) Britain is now in an arms race with other European powers. When the mutilated corpse of a young servant, Kitty Ryder, shows up, William Pitt is called in, since Kitty’s employer was the rich and powerful Dudley Kynaston. It looks as if he was being blackmailed into giving naval secrets to a foreign power. When other murders occur, and Pitt struggles with the investigation, his wife Charlotte and her sister Emily start their own enquiries, as they used to together in previous books. Emily’s Page 4 of Ki Agency rights list – London Book Fair 2014 husband has had a promotion in the government and is now working with Kynaston. Together they can reach parts of society and gain information that even Pitt can’t. Europe might ignite into a world war, if they can’t solve the case. “Anne Perry has written many books apart from this series but there is a freshness about her writing which makes it truly exceptional and I was gripped until the final page. DEATH ON BLACKHEATH was one of the best books I've read this year and I cannot recommend it highly enough.” Eurocrime “Perry balances plot and character neatly before providing a resolution that few will anticipate.” Publishers Weekly Rights sold: UK (Headline), US (Random House), Italy (Mondadori), Germany (Heyne), Spain (Ediciones B) 30. ANGEL COURT (September 2014) Sophia, an Englishwoman now living in Spain, arrives in London. Since there have been threats on her life, Pitt is asked to protect her. Besides being a religious preacher, she’s bringing urgent information to her cousin. Gold and diamonds have recently been found in India, and there is confidence that other British territories must be rich in natural resources. However, the Canadian diamond mine in which he’s invested is a fraud. The cousin panics, because he brokered the investment from the Church of England. If this is made public, it could cause a panic and world-wide economic meltdown of a sort not to be seen again until our recent times. Amidst the cover-up, Sophia is kidnapped. Pitt must save her life, bring the fraudsters to justice, and maintain economic confidence. Manuscript delivered. A CHRISTMAS HOPE (2013) (“Monk” series) (Previously A CHRISTMAS CANDLE) This features Claudine, who works with Hester at the Clinic. She's at a party where a wild poet invites a prostitute to crash the party. Things get a bit over-heated amongst them and a group of young men who are guests there. The young woman gets knocked about and killed. Claudine has a soft spot for the poet, who's a Byronic figure, and wants to rescue him from the blame everyone has put on him. She enlists Squeaky Robinson to do the unsavoury parts of the investigation, while she uncovers the relevant secrets of the guests at the party. “There’s considerable pleasure to be had in watching Perry… manage Claudine’s nimble cut-and-thrust conversations with young people, society hostesses and her own husband.” Kirkus “For many readers, the countdown to Christmas wouldn’t be complete without bestselling author Anne Perry’s annual Yuletide treat. A Christmas Hope marks the 11th novel in her holiday series of books, which have been called winter beach reads.” Fort Worth Star-Telegram Rights sold: UK (Headline), US (Random House) 11. A NEW YORK CHRISTMAS (2014) (“Pitt” series) (Previously A CHRISTMAS VOYAGE). It is 1904. Thomas and Charlotte’s daughter Jemima is now 22. She is voyaging to New York as a “suitable companion” to a girlfriend, Delphinia, who is traveling over to get married. Delphinia’s fiancé’s family is in New York’s high society, and Hester is invited to stay with them for a short while before her Page 6 of Ki Agency rights list – London Book Fair 2014 return to London. The time drags, as Delphinia is rather annoying: shallow and self-centered. However, the fiancé’s brother Harley Albright volunteers to show Jemima the city. However, he also wants to enlist her help in keeping away Delphinia’s estranged mother, Maria Cardew, in case she should show up at the wedding. The two decide to try and find Maria and persuade her to stay away. Eventually they track down her lodgings, but find her dead, the body still warm. With the help of a handsome young policeman, Patrick Flannery (and following in her father’s footsteps), Jemima discovers and proves who the murderer is. At the same time, she discovers a budding affection for Constable Flannery – and New York City itself.
