I was also able to open (barely) the Warren 6m machine with my 2m antenna as a test. The Kenwood TM-D700 (2m/70cm) that was in the van, is no more. I think the repeated dousings of mouse juice did it in. It is actually sticky on the inside. The 70cm Kendecom repeater has found a cozy spot on my bench. I would like to find a frequency pair and a list of potential locations for installation. I think I am going to try and convert the radios in the machine from crysal to digital as it will afford us some options. The cost will be about $500. Also, for anyone there who may not know, the NA1RA-R echolink node is once again online. The new audio interface assembled on field day works quite well with the 2ch Maxtrac feeding the 2M machine from my QTH. The link is currently in an open configuration; we should decide if we want to leave it open, or limit access by callsign (club membership). Mike, I've been thinking about either Kantronics KPC3+ or TNC-X tncs for the packet go kits. With 160 channels available, I think we can program everything in the spreadsheet you sent. I ve been looking at the yellow boxes and I think we can remote the radio faces and put the radio, tnc, powersupply and battery below the panel. It will certainly need a fan, but with everything mounted below I can fit a small laptop inside the case. I think a laptop sleeve can be attached to the inside of the lid as well. Jim, Let me know some dates when you are available to take a ride up to Above All and put the 6m duplexer and radios on the HP. I figure we will need at least 2 hours at the site to take a set of baseline measurements. Thanks, -KB1VNO
